I think that is the look they were going for with the video - the contrast of Billy with the cheesy Christmas tune.

I have to say I like it. I love when people can do stuff like this, just have fun with music and videos. This ranks FAR above the video for Separate Ways - which is forever a hopeless cause without excuse.

Another thing I like about it is it shows that he can really sing, even at his "maturity". Much like Eyes Without A Face shut his critics up, showing William actually has a great singing voice.

That's my take on it, anyway
