Videos look great. Were they filmed by Journey and then management approved them for release? If so, is this a sign of changing times as far as Journey's stance on audio/video clips? Other bands have new footage on their sites all the time.

Videos were filmed by someone - I'm not sure who exactly. A bud sent a DVD of the whole show to me - stating that it was his bud that filmed the show.

The rehersal/soundcheck footage was from my digital camera.

You never let us down. Excellent read and absolutely worth the wait. You've got a gift in making your subjects comfortable enough to be candid. It truly was a pleasure meeting you. 8)

Gotcha. It looked like it was filmed at a higher level than the crowd was, so I wasn't sure if it was a "sneaky bootleg" sort of filming. Interesting.

EDIT: Love it how Ross aimed his squirting thing at you at the beginning of Message Of Love during the soundcheck.

Just finished reading the interviews and all -- great job, Andrew! Love reading diaries and I laughed at "beef (apparently)"...mystery meat, perhaps? lol! Hey, JSS is a Valley neighbor.
Deen's interview was great - I enjoyed his last interview with you (I think it was yours) as he is very open, childlike, yet has all these scary looking tatoos - lol. He & JSS's words about loving Steve Perry make me VERY HAPPY! I think the band is going to really get energized more.

Knew there was another reason I liked Deen........he's a sensitive soul (like Perry) but yet in your face when you screw with him. LOL at the end of his interview, when somebody thought he lyp-synched because he sounded so much like Perry.....he had them hunted down and brought back stage and sang to them by requests. Would love to have been a fly on the wall for that. I saw a DOA clip awhile back and just love how JSS and Deen play off each other. :D

And BIG thank you to Oh Sherrie for transcribing the 4 interviews in quick fashion. Pity we had to wait to post them in the end! But there they are :)

My pleasure.
This is the truly the finest thing you've done in all of MR.com's existence.

Now if only someone would turn the tables around and interview you....hehehehe.

It's nice to see something, anything official from the band, but...I don't think it answered anyone's questions about what really happened. They just kind of brushed off the whole "Augeri being sick" thing. I know they're trying to move on and hope people forget about the tape thing...and eventually they will. But I was really hoping one of them would at least address it and offer a half-hearted "we're sorry, but we didnt have any other options at the time" statement.

(nothing against you Andrew, it would've taken some massive balls to bring that up while you're in their good graces and getting backstage access and face-time and whatnot...I just would've liked to see one of them address it on their own free will, to put it behind them once and for all. I wish them all the best with Jeff, and look forward to what they do, but in the back of my mind, the whole issue of "why did the tapes happen in the first place and how did someone like Neal come to that decision" is still there)

A little disappointed they won't be touring next year (still waiting for my first live Journey experience), but am really looking forward to hearing what their new record sounds like.

Fabulous job Andrew with the interviews. I, like everyone else, was particularly captivated by the energy these guys are filled with. It's great to be a Journey fan, AND a MR fan... 8)

Ya'll think if I asked Deen if he ever lip-synched he'd give me a personal performance?????
Not that I believe he would, I just would love him to sing to me!!
