Remember Me

Postby froy » Thu Dec 21, 2006 1:30 am

How ironic that the first JRNY song with Steve Augeri was Remember Me and now thats exactly what we are doing.
For me the JRNY is over Im not going to follow Neal around just because he owns the name JRNY

Like Styx this band should not use the name JRNY but thats not going to happen as the money dictates the action.

I would love to see Monkers idea come to light

Augeri with Tall Stories, Shooting Star with Kevin and Perry with Rollie and Steve Smith.

That would be a great triple bill and one that would probably never happen.

The chemistry of this band is not JRNY its Soul Circus Journey and thats kills the buzz for me.

Im sure I will give a listen to the new cd but not with JRNY ears

Spreading your holiday cheer, as usual. Wasn't it Soul SirkUS? Or is it Neil Diamond or Neal Schon? Happy Holidays, joyous one!

And the last band had little chemistry to speak of whatsoever.
That much has been obvious since the surfeit of outside writers were brought in for "Arrival".
The fact that nobody in the band called Augeri after he was ousted clinches it even further.

At least Neal and Jeff can write solid tunes.

I think the fact that nobody called him speaks volumes. "Brothers" my ass.

OBVIOUSLY Styx shouldn't use the name Journey, but I'm pretty sure Journey should use the name Journey since they are Journey.

Yeah, I'm sure Rolie is itching to work with Perry....

Happy Holidays to u too Froy. But come on. There is a writing ingredient in Journey that was not in SoulSirkUS. His name is Jon Cain.

BTW, have u checked out any of Jeff's past music? Take a listen to Eyes, Talisman, & his solo work. U might find a little Journeyesque music in there w/more oomph than many of the songs recorded w/Augeri this past 8 yrs.

I have a feeling that any new material the band puts out will sound little like Soul SirkUS and much more like classic Journey, simply due to the fact of Cain's songwriting and influence on their overall sound.

JSS has said repeatedly that he highly respects the Journey legacy and won't steer the band's new direction too far from the classic sound.

I'd say he's looking forward to looking with Cain and the two of them, along with my boy Neal will be inking some powerful rock epics.

Good riddance, take all the wigglers with you - Journey has got a decent singer again thankfully!

Exactly. You can tell from what Neal and Jeff said in the interviews that this is going to be Journey through and through. Neal is in melodic mode and Jeff has had to tone down his "Journey/Perryesque" sound over the years to sing other stuff. :D

JSS is better than decent, as was Augeri and Perry. Perry retired before he ran his voice into the ground. Augeri ran his into the ground. Maybe both will make a good (new) cd soon.-ERIC
