Peterik is writing songs with Jamison for a new Jamison solo album. How many songs I don't know, but this news has come directly from Jamison. There are no plans for any live performances from the two of them.

Personally I like it as it is. Jamison has stated he wants to rock more, and Peterik's work has always been first class. I've nothing against McCauley personally, but his voice does nothing for me. I'd rather Sullivan get back with Dave Bickler, and then everyone's happy!

I know Dave will never go back, he's making way to much money now. He's actually become more successful than any of them if you think about it. You hear him on the radio a hellofa lot more! I'm happy for him.

Yeah, it's a shame though. The debut Survivor record is still my favourite. Classic seventies rock!

Yup, it is a shame. I'm afraid great music like that is a thing of the past.

Sure, he is making more money than he could with Survivor at this point but you can not tell me that singing those jingles is a full time job. He could do both if he wanted to. Bickler does not write the jingles...he just sings them. He goes in the studio for a couple hours here and there. if Bickler wanted to be in Survivor and Sullivan wanted him he could do it.

Actually I asked Jimi via email if he had any plans of returning to the band along with JP. He replied by saying "Sorry, but neither I nor Jim are friends with Frankie at the moment and we have to plans for a "reunion. Like Amy told you, I left the band because I was tired of getting cheated on some things such as getting a drop in pay along with other reasons. I don't know why Jim isn't friends with him."

So, guys I think the odds of a reunion at this point are slim. I personally think this could be a "good" thing for survivior. Don't get me wrong, I admire both JJ and JP but we must face the facts. Would you rather have a survivor reunion and have them not have fun and get into the show or rather them like they are now and having a blast Think of it, if the band can't get along, the music is useless. I hope you all have a great week.

There are a number of things posted here that are incorrect.I know the things I do because I've known Jim for about 20 years.

Yes, Jim and Jimi did appear together recently...it was at a charity event in Minneapolis back in August,it was a planned event not like one of them just showed up at the others show. They performed I Can't Hold Back. I spoke to Jim about this both before he went and when he came back
The comment about the former bass player getting the 85 line-up together has no merit as Stephen Ellis has his own problems to deal with and would be able to do it.
You have a better chance of them getting a foot of snow in Brazil, then getting Jim Peterik to rejoin Survivor.
Jim and Frankie haven't gotten along for years, although they are civil to each other and speak by email occasionally.
I do know that Jim was pretty angry with Frankie for taking the song "Fire makes Steel" and changing it around from how they wrote it,then he added it to Reach.

Now for the big one......Jimi Jamison, as determined by a court of law, is LEGALLY allowed to use the name Survivor as in "Jimi Jamison and Survivor" or "Survivor featuring Jimi Jamison". This stems from the lawsuit filed by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan in the mid 90's.They lost their case as the judge said because they released a greatest hits album called "Survivor featuring Jimi Jamison"( Remember those?),he is now and was then legally entitled to use the name. Whether you think it's right or not,he has every right to use the name.
I personally haven't supported Sullivan since Jim left and I won't til he's back.Guess I won't be supporting them anytime soon.As I said the album reach sucks and as I told Jim "Where's the rock?" I didn't think you can get insulin shock from music, but that sugar infested thing is horrible.Glad I downloaded it out of curiosity and didn't spend money on it.But it has since been thrown away as unlistenable.

I made the Stephan comment, thought not suggesting he be the CATALYST per se, but as the only person on the outside of either faction Survivor or Jamison/Peterik. Like Survivor's management could call him, then bring both factions back together into the VS lineup.

I agree though that it's a pipe dream especially as long's the new Survivor lineup is functional and happy.

Don't get what Peterik would be so upset for about the band changing FMS though, as the changes to me seemed minimal (some added Frankie guitars and Droubay adding some REAL drums).

Not so, Frankie changed the structure of the song by changing some of the chords in the song. When you do this, the entire feeling of the song changes;for example if you take a song like say "High On You" and it's in the key of "A" and you drop it down to say "G" the song structure and sound then becomes a much more deep and ballsy sound, thus changing the feeling of the song.A songwriter hates it when someone changes the chords of their song because it changes the interpetation of the song and their vision of how the song works.
Besides look at it this way,who would you trust to write a hit song?Jim or Frankie?
Frankie, who's never had a hit without Jim's help. Or Jim,who's written or co-written #1 hits for tons of artist. I think Jim would know more about how it's done.

I like the Reach version of Fire Makes Steel better than the demo from the 90s.
