I think this is very true of certain people. Take for instance the Augeri departure. A lot of people are having a difficult time with his termination. As anyone with two ears and a half brain can surmise, the guy was a very mediocre singer...at best. And a new era tends to make one seriously face the present. That said, there are certain heffers that adored Mr. Augeri (you KNOW who you are) that 6,7 or 8 years ago weighed a lot less than they currently do. But 8 years of wiping out buffets has its consequences. Now, these women who are required to buy 2 airplane tickets just to board a plane are faced with the grim realiztion that the Soto era might bring in fans that weigh less than a Volkswagon. And THAT has to be something no one would want to face. Hopefully, Augeri tours at the same time Journey does and everyone is happy. I was getting awfully tired of standing next to women built like Chris Farley.

 Who needs pics when you paint such a funny pic with words, john? But which show would you go to if Augie and Journey performed the same night?

Ideally, both. Yes, I WOULD go to see Augeri (I can hear Deano breaking shit  ). If it were one or the other....well shit, that's like comparing the Rolling Stones to Milli Vanilli. If tours were calculated by weight rather than attendance, Augeri might crack the Billboard top ten despite only having 1-3 thousand fans present. Throw in food sales and he cracks the top 3.

Oh that woke me the fuck up.

Are you fucking high? Dude, I can tell you right now....Put me up on a stage telling my horrible jokes, and I will blow Augeri out of the water. Fuck, I'll sing karaoke to the Dirty 4 dozen and be better than that geri curled Kenny G looking motherfucker, wearing red tights and ruffled shirts.....

Now, on a completely separate note....NIG, about your topic of Classic lineups...

I must say, having just heard the LA Forum show, I am officially a Loon. Yep, Perry was that good. Count me in amongst the Loons.

IMO, they are people who are afraid of change.

Kinda of like your first love. You break up and you are afraid that you will NEVER find another as good, so you don't look, and when you find someone new, you keep comparing to the first. Afraid to go for the ride, and so what if it doesn't work out, you move on. Sure it is ok to look back every once in a while, but if you obsess over it, you will not have a future.

Like with Journey, Styx, and all the other bands. Just like above. Perry was the cream of the crop for some. But he and the band as moved on. Classic Journey was the top. A lot of people didn't except Augeri just because he wasn't Perry, and some really didn't like his singing as much, so they didn't like him (which the second part is ok, at least they gave him a try). But the people who refused or always spoke bad of him because he wasn't Perry, are still stuck on their first love, and can't move on.
Hopefully JSS will not have that much problem with these People. They have seen Augeri and now JSS. the second singer since Perry. Maybe they will see that Perry is not coming back now, and it is time to move on (kinda like your first love going from them to another, then another, kinda of get the idea she or he is not coming back). So maybe they will start waking up or move on. But hopefully they will start listening with an open mind, and find what they are hearing is good.
Now I said this when Augeri was in the band, and I will say now. Yes I would like to see Perry perform again, BUT not in Journey. If he did with Journey a one shot tour or show, but that would be it, but then a lot of people would start think again that Perry could come back for good, but that would be the end of Journey. So IMO he needs to stay solo.-ERIC
