The Official Word: Van Halen Tour Kaput
It looks like David Lee Roth’s first tour with Van Halen in twenty-three years won’t happen, after all. Over the weekend, employees of tour promoters Live Nation were informed that “the Van Halen tour has been shut down.” It’s not yet clear what went wrong: Just last week, the band released their first official photo of their new line-up to Rolling Stone. At the time, Roth told us that he was thrilled about the tour, and that the reunion could be permanent: “I have hope and faith – and that’s more than just the name of a couple of strippers from Albuquerque,” he said. Check back here for more VH news as the story unfolds.

Not much substance to that report. Still holding out hope.

Yep....at this point we have to wait for Cleveland and hope ALL VH members become blasted on the great vibe that should be in the air there.

I don't think the majority of Van Halen's members, past or present, will be at the induction ceremony. I picture Ed standing next to Al, who gives a somewhat sincere 'thank-you' before the two just walk away.

Although, Red, I'm hopeful that the ideal scenario suggested might take place.

I predicted this sometime ago. Then I got blasted for negative criticism. Granted, I was being negative - but this proves that my premonitions were correct. Eddie Van Halen is in no mental state to conduct a tour with David Lee Roth or anyone else for that matter.

Give me something to be positive about, and you will see my optimistic side.

They'll tour. Most likely will only be a North American tour though.

I have no idea what Ed's mental state really is, and neither does anyone else (apart from his therapist). Nor do we know what Roth's mental state is.....pretty wacky, most likely!
