After reading the front page news here (thanks Andrew) ...and with Eddie or whoever, maybe not showing up for the RORHOF... the end is near or already gone for VH. A VERY PAINFUL END. But laughing their head off would be Sammy and Michael dont you think....

Disclaimer-- I guess I could be wrong and this could all be for drama, hype, etc..

I was really hoping they would tour, I would have looked
into getting tix, oh well, guess I'll go back to waiting for
Perry to get off the unproductive pot.

Like I said in my thread about
Sammy headlining the NASCARevents this weekend in Cali...
It'd be a great "Punch In The Mouth" to EVH
if Mad Mike joined Sammy on stage for the Sunday Fox
pre-race broadcast and closed thier set with a DLR-era song!
That would be priceless!

Ironically, Sammy was right. A few months ago he was quoted as saying something along the lines of "I doubt this tour will ever materialize"...

At the time, I found him hard to believe...but he was right.

Just go see Dave by himself. He always brings an amazing band, and you get to hear all the classic VH songs.

Plus it's a hell of a lot cheaper ticket price..........

At least they cancelled the tour. They could have charged $100 a ticket and played their Vegas DVD. I can't imagine any band would do that to their fans though. LOL But Journey still owe me $200 from their Baltimore Generations show.

My mantra continues to be "Wait For Cleveland."

Come on, fucking Eddie. :x get your head out your ass.

Honest to god, I appreciate Neal more all the time. His thick skinned ability to just rip off melodicrock's premier guitar playing both studio and live without ever blubbering about his own plights and the complexities of his genius.
Talk about a guy who just lives to blaze on his Strat (and make kick ass coin).

Actually not a war. I'm totally dead set against th VH reunion. I saw Sam with Dave and that closed the door. No boring 15 min guitar and drum solos. Go see Jrny with Jeff. Money well spent . Some new tour dates added. I wonder if Ar. Dave , and Duke will have any travel stories from Madrid Spain. Anyway go see Dave solo - it's better than any VH gig and about $75 cheaper.

Oh god, Alex's drum solo is the cure all for insomnia.
How did that get on the live album?

EVH is a fuckhead. The 2004 reunion w/ Sammy they charged $100+ a ticket. Even Sammy thought it was a rip off. The tour last summer with Mike lawn tickets were $15 to make up for it. Fuck, when I saw Sam and Dave I had 10th row for $50 and tour shirts were $15. Whatever happens, Sammy is a class act who loves his fans and Dave being the fuck up he is earned the right to be. He is the definition of a true ROCK STAR. As for a VH and JRNY war, there are too many memories. You'd start the party getting fucked up to classic VH then end of the night Fucking some whore during Open Arms or Faithfully and pretending you had the emotion of Steve Perry. Actually after sex, most guys get out of the room faster than Perry can rush through Any Way You Want It during his sped up live rendition.

Just so there's NO mistake, I'll post some facts concerning Van Halen. One popular misconception is that the Roth era outsold the Hagar era. WRONG!!! In the U.S., yes....worldwide, no. Not to mention that the Roth era had the benefit of sales from vinyl (even 8 track early on), to cassette to CD. So you had the same people buying the same albums 3 or 4 times. Hagar was pretty much all CD. Here's part of a Hagar interview...good stuff:

SH: There's still that hard core Roth army that say, Hey, the Roth years were it. Fine, and I'm OK with people thinking that. I just know that what we did was good. It wasn't a matter of what was better, but was what we did good? Yes, it was good.

Every record was number one. We sold 42 million records. We sold out every arena in the world. You can't do that if it's not good and they proved that with the Gary Cherone record, I mean, they died. We sold 7 million records every time out. They sold 400 thousand.

Razor: What did you think of that record?

SH: It stunk. It was terrible. It was a horrible and it wasn't Gary Cherone's fault. He's a decent singer. It was just an Eddie Van Halen solo record. The only thing I won't get into in this article is burning on Eddie, but he deserves it because he is the problem. He changed at the end of our era. He flipped out and I don't know what happened. We got a new manager and suddenly Eddie, that manager and Alex decided that they were going to fucking control the world and make so much money. They thought they were going to try and make $50 million instead of $5 or $6 million we were always making each. I mean, we made plenty of money. That wasn't a problem with this band, ya know? (chuckles)

They all got greedy. They thought, we'll bring Roth back and we'll get Sammy to go along with it. Fuck you, I said. I ain't going along with no kind of stupid shit greatest hits record and all this stuff. Get out of here! We don't need to be doing anything cheap to our fans.

who cares who sold more records. Britney Spears probably outsold both. Without Roth, VH would not even be considered for the HOF. I like both. But songs like Mean Street are classic. When It's Love was a shit. 5150 which never got any radio play was fuckin' classic. It's a preference but it's Dave, Eddie, Mike, and Alex's songs that got them there. If I'm not mistaken Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell outsold most of Ozzy's recordings w/ Sabbath yet Dio is not a member of the elite yet. C'mon the Sex Pistols are there with 1 album. Motley Crue are not may favorite but deserve it more. The Hall of Fame is a joke just like Cleveland's football team. No offense to Brown's fans but Bmore didn't get their team back by crying' to ESPN. BMore stole one because are city is filled with nothing but killers that get off and drug dealing thieves. Our mayor never earned her position and our Gov is a good do nothing peice of shit that blames his wrong doings on the fed gov't. Don't visit B More . Our murder rate is over imposing the days we have in a month. Our Gov spend more time cheating on his wife with newscasters and performing in his shitty Irish band than he does performing his civic duties. I forgot. He's a DEMOCRAT

Both eras have amazing music. Roth more bluesy or ecclectic, Hagar more melodic (though 1 stunning blues rock # appeared on the otherwise eh ou812.)

Dudes and dudettes, this ISN'T 1984. Eddie has morphed into a piece of shit. His guitar skills are now just good, which is fine if you're in Dokken. As for DLR, he has always been a guy who should be operating the Ferris Wheel at the local carnival. He's been a joke for 20 years. Sammy brought some semblance of decency and direction to the band. THAT is now gone and isn't coming back. Fuck Van Halen.
