I only know this one thing. While my 2 teenagers buy some of the "new" rock music ( they buy alot, bless them not download- I won't allow it!)- the one's that get the most air-time in our house are the "classics".

Any day inbetween MCR or !Panic, comes the classic sounds of ACDC, Rush, Queen, DL, Journey, Metallica, etc.

In my youth, my parent's used to yell at me to turn it down. IN MY HOUSE- we yell at them to turn it UP! 8) 8)

Funny, my dad would play boring music in the car, my mom would play Top 40. Now I play rock too loud for my kid in the car. He likes it, but still doesn't like it loud. :?

I had that problem with my Mom- Andy Williams, Perry Como, etc. was her music in the car *insert barfing smilie here*

My Dad- he stole MY tapes!!!
It wasn't my friends I had to worry about- it was him! If something was missing, I'd raid his car to find it
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

He thinks Journey is "noise".

He likes classic hard rock (Maiden, AC/DC). He likes Roth-era VH (hates Sammy). Strange kid. :?

He's 14. He doesn't think it's noise, I just probably played it too much over the years.

I'm guessing here...But I suspect that GnR sold well with AFD, UYI1 & UYI2 ...however, where are they now?
Boston is a good example that was mentioned, but they took 6-7 years to release the 3rd album. Most labels would have shitcanned them after waiting for 1 year these days.
