coincidentally the female traffic in this little ol' thread increases exponentially when JSS appears and starts talking about "head (voice)."

Christ you can almost HEAR the collective panting and scrambling for the keyboards.

Good HEAVENS, no.
I just think it again points out there were at least "some" () truths in Stragegrey's Manifesto.

No my original question did pertain to vocal technique if you look back. It was everyone else who brought it into the gutter. I merely asked a question about a song. 8)

Deb, Strangegrey posted a diatribe a while back about the lunacy of the extremist Perry and Augeri fans that ruined BT. I wish I could honestly say he was wrong. :?

What Jeff's been doing is the result of more than two decades of fine tuning his instrument. My father's a composer and also a vocal coach, and he's a huge opera guy, but he is raving about JSS and how he's adapted to Journey's music. I've been trying to learn how to do what he did for fifteen years. The reason Jeff's the lead singer for Journey and I'm playing cover tunes in front of 55 people in the middle of rural South Carolina is because HE IS FUCKING BRILLIANT. He sounds like Jeff Scott Perry; I sound like Daniel Pearcy.

Hmmm....in the words of George H.....Jeff Scott Soto, good! Daniel, baaaad!

Really? U never sang in head voice before? Wow. What about the Queen stuff? Freddie used head voice so I assumed u must have too.

Do u have trouble controlling ur air as u bridge up? Every singer I've ever talked to says that's the most difficult part to get the hang of: using less air as u got up instead of what most people intuitively do which is use more air.

No, that's falsetto, huge difference. Most of the Queen stuff I can do in real voice, wouldn't work in head voice, would sound like Perry singing Mercury!
you could complete the picture by singing like that dressed in a leotard! honestly, freddie is\was one the BEST singers ever.
who has it more difficult, you or paul?
