Stop the Augeri Bashing!

The man kept Journey alive for many years, otherwise we would not even gotten to this point with Soto. I'm sure many of you were praising him all along until TapeGate. It's amazing how you kill him for it, yet release the rest of the band from any responsibility. PEOPLE - THEY ALL KNEW! Is is disappointing - sure. Yet, to demonize one guy for a team effort is wrong.

I enjoyed the concerts, Arrival is a terrific album and the DVD kicked ass. Plus, the guy did nothing but try and reach out to his fans. Anyone see Cain or Schon show as much interest?

Move on and enjoy Soto who seems to bring many of the same good qualities.

I feel much the same way as you do. But some here can not forgive and move on. The group is made of humans, and we all make mistakes. It is time to put it to rest and enjoy the new Journey. For me I can't wait to here stuff from them and any new Steve Augeri material coming out.

And you for forgot Generations, awesome cd!!!-ERIC

You know, the guy with the average voice who rode on the coat tails of Steve Perry, imitating The Voice and not contributing much to speak of all the years he was with the band?

2 1/2 albums in nearly a decade. The last one being worse than ROR. Wow - that sure is something.

Soto, let's hope you guys make some albums on a better schedule than this or it will be the same thing all over again - except for the fact that your voice is much better and you are an infinitely better front man than Ausleepy.

I will say i did not care for SA but i do feel bad for him.I don't think he knew what he was really getting his self into. And we have not heard a peep out of him. I just hope Jeff can do something for them But it will never be the way it was with Mr P.But hope that it can be a new start for them.....maybe some new tunes & lets fall in love with them.

Augeri, Perry, Schon, Cain, Valory, Castronovo, Rollie, Smitty, etc...

They are all open to praise and criticism. I certainly don't like to hear negative things said about Steve Perry, but I don't start a thread about it. Why is it okay to have 3 threads talking about how good or bad ROR is (and Steve Perry's "control" over it), but it's NOT okay to say how disappointed/pissed off people are about Steve Augeri and their perception of what he did to the band's legacy.

Some like him, most no longer do. Gotta take the good with the bad. In the end, it's all perception. My perception is that he looked like a fag in those red leather pants, and was a mediocre talent. He embarrassed himself and Journey. Of course he wasn't in it alone. But in the end, it was HIM not doing the job he was paid to do. For that, he is open to any criticism that comes his way. Ya just gotta deal with it.

The thing I find most amusing is that they go on about him yet he has been completely silent... like you say, it is probably just done out of boredom now.

Hey maybe someone in his family's bumped him off and not told anyone

I am sick of BOTH sides, you Perry Loons and you Augeri morons.

This thread is no different that what a Perry fan would do. The Perry fans are NO beter than these pathetic Wiggler hanger ons. The Perry fans sole purpose is to keep his name in lights. You know how fucking stupid you look HOTS and PROPERRY? Constantly praising the Voice? I am beginning to think you two nu-ttwats are probably at church now, celebrating the Resurrection of Steve Perry. Don't laugh, you are that sick.

Now for you Mimer Morons. Your guy simply had no wiggle room..no pun intended. When you lack some skills, which now we are finding out more and more that Augeri basically had very little, there is less room for scandal. I see right through you assholes. You all are pissed because Augeri got the chair and the rest of the band got amnesty. To the real fans, the smarter fans, we all know the other guys knew and are guilty but not as much as some of you like to say. Why should Neal be branded a lipper? Why should Friga be labeled a shallow no talent hack job? Deen shouldn't have to carry the moniker of "scandal singer." These guys don't have weaknesses. The only thing Neal and Friga fucked up was hiring Augeri. STOP trying to bring down Neal, Garfriga, and Deen. If anything, they are victims of association. Some of you don't know the entire story and the morbid details, and I am not about to tell of those details, but I am even more pissed at the Manhattan Mimer.

So yeah, roycap, you are a pathetic piece of shit. Not too bright either. I don't see people starting up anything Augeri...Most of us were about to let him settle into his door-greeter job without external pressures, but his "fans" although larger than life, are about the dumbest motherfuckers on Earth. The people on this Board are just too smart to see through you and the rest of Jerry's Kids.

I am quick to say Perry was a complete dick, but he DOES get a free pass, because we aren't here for thses guys morality and personal behaviour. We are here for the stage and studio product, and Perry passed with solid marks. Not perfect, but very good.

I agree with most of what you say deano but this time, talentless hack or not the band and Azoff threw this poor fucker right under the bus to save face. All you gotta do is look back in the threads, there is a more recent one that says another Azoff product got snagged lipping again... Is this guy running a talent management company or a mime training academy?

Before you run off at the mouth at me, please understand I am witholding much info that if leaked out, would not only cement Augeri forever under the bus and deservedly so, but throwing him under the bus is too kind. Knowing what I know, he should have been dragged under a train. He had PLENTY of time to plan a departure. He liked the cash. He didn't care about the scandal. He was selfish and only worried about his bank account.

The fact that Aguilera was also caught should tell the guys that Azoff ONLY cares about padding his pocket with as much money as possible. Now I realize that IS his job, but do the guys want to risk everything when they really don't have to? They merely have to do it right and the fans will continue to come. One more fuck up and I'm out, and I'm quite sure others would agree. They got their one free pass. Fire Azoff and hire a young guy willing to hit the pavement and promote this band. Azoff is settled in his ways and has WAY too many young acts lining his pockets to give a shit about Journey. If he stays, I say they fail and slowly disappear into obscurity. Since Perry left he's been indifferent to this group of guys and it certainly won't change because Jeff's here, though he SAYS it will. It's all bullshit. In all of his years at the helm I can't think of ONE thing he's done that the guys couldn't have done on their own. Hell, they would have been MUCH better off on their own. Find someone who gives a shit.

Gotcha! Yes it does make him different. See, Neal and Deen and especially Garfriga earn their cash through playng their craft exceptionally well, and in regards to Garfriga, songwriting skills. Augeri liked cash, but the ends(cash) weren't justified by the means(faking lead singing). I will never forgive him. He forever tarnished my band.
