Stop the Augeri Bashing!

Saint John : Are you kidding - it was up to Augeri to keep the legacy alive? Yeah - OK! No responsibilty for Cain and Schon. It was only their band at the time. Get off the worship bandwagon and wake up.

Listen cakeboy, Journey's legacy was putting on some of the greatest live shows in music. Augeri merely had to do THAT. It really didn't extend beyond that as they were constantly dogged in most music circles. However, even critics acknowledged that their live shows were money, just that they disagreed with Journey's style when it came to the actual music. Cain and Schon didn't leave, Perry did. Taking the frontman's job meant that the baton was passed from Perry and accepted by Augeri. HE, and he alone, chose not to step down when the time came. I don't give a shit about legalities and contracts so don't bother using those excuses. The guy is a poser...always has been. You may now resume playing "Cheek Splitter" with your boyfriend. Sissy.

Well I have to say I place more blame on Neal for the tapegate, simply because HE is the LEADER of the band and he could have stopped it from happening, NO MATTER who came up with idea to do that, even if it was management, but he didn't, he LET it happen.

And Yes, the others all had a part in it because they knew about it, but ultimatley it was still Neal's responsibility as LEADER of this band to step up to the plate and not let it happen.

Now I don't like what Augeri did, but my guess is that just like Neal wouldn't WAIT for Perry to get through his serious medical ordeal, that it was PROBALY similar for Augeri that he wouldn't stop touring and WAIT for Augeri's vocal problems to heal BEFORE going on tour again. That's my opinion anyways.

As deano and discussed earlier in another thread. Money. Augeri got greedy that is why he wouldn't voluntarily step aside. But yes all of the others like the bank too so they wouldn't stop touring and regroup to avoid this bullshit in the first place.
