Not saying anyone should be walking on eggshells - was an observation that last night I watched about thirty to thirty five people log on, hang for a few minutes, not post shit and then leave. It looked like everyone (with the exception of a few) were a little timid to say anything for fear of reprisal. That's not how it should be. Everyone should be able to come here and say what's on their minds within the confines of Andrew's rules. Know what I mean?

Part of the problem chief, is that certain people here know who they can bait and who will take it every time. Other people bait (and walk away), just to see what happens, and "wonder" later on, what's happened to the board. Other people are here strictly for the music part, or so they say, but eventually get pulled into something unwillingly or maybe because they just have an opinion, and it get's taken to a different level.

People who tell other people they shouldn't be posting about certain things that have nothing to do with Journey, really have no right to tell other people they can't post about anything other than Journey. (with excepion of Andy) This is our board, but it's ANDREW'S board moreso than that. We have to respect HIS wishes (that he continuously has to remind "us" of) to act semi-civil. When it get's rough here, sometimes I've taken the bait, but rarely. My family is more important than people here who want to go after each other. I cringe when I see people whose personalities here I like, get involved. Sometimes I can predict that certian people wll come in and turn a thread into something it isn't or wasn't supposed to be. "You" can tell that people are going to fight it out here, and that's not fair to Andrew or the rest of us. It's not fair for people to say they are wrong, because they don't agree with your OPINIONS. But several people are seemingly here, ONLY to try to pound it in to our heads, that their opinions are the only ones that count.

Fuck, i could go on and on, but the baseball game is on, and I ahve a drink here next to me and I'd like to spend QUALITY time with my family, instead of trying to put reasoning to some people. that's not my place, only my opinion(s).

This place isn't being detroyed, even you know that dude. People just need to chill sometimes, the baiters and the people who take the bait (that includes me, when I bother to take the bait). Some people just can't though, and it shows over and over. I'm not trying to get all Rodney King on everybody, but the same people who at times "remind" the rest of us that this is just an internet board, are also the ones that get too fired up at the same things. True Indeed.... The sun will still rise tomorrow. Some people need to realize that when 20 are trying to play the "Last Word" game, it's never going to end. Just bite your tongue and walk away. Shitfests get old real fast. People try to get their point accross 7 ways from Sunday and in 9 languages and they fall all on deaf ears because the others all are trying to do the same. Why even waste the energy and get involved, and worse yet, why waste the energy to try and get people involved, hence the baiters and the bait.

There's many threads I don't read because either the title or the first post doesn't really interest me. Others here should try that sometime. You'd be amazed at the crap that can be avoided. If you're not interested, why post? It's only going to result in you saying something negative and getting a reaction, and it's all downhill from there. If you're the type that thrives on that, this isn't the place for you.

You all need to remember that at the end of the day, this is still Andrews board. Everything said and done here reflects on him and his website. He's doing his best for his family and this is his bread and butter. If you can't respect that, then go elsewhere. He only has a few simple rules.. how friggin hard can they be to follow? Even if you're "joking", some people don't read it that way, and they don't react that way. Take that into consideration.

There's so much knowledge and so many good people here. I've learned alot myself and I'm thankful for that. Some just need to tone it down a little and quit with the Holier Than Thou attitude.

I have seen a very ridiculous scene develop, amd I can tell you this; I have lost a lot and all respect for many on here and the "other" board, and frankly, used to call many friends here, but now that simply does not apply.

I never degredate women. This was an unfair post. As far fat jolks - get on a treadmill - or celebrate how you look. I don't care. I love confident people who feel good about themselves regardless of size, complection - anything.

This place can only get as bad as people who post here, let it get. Without people to post, this place is nothing. But with people who post only crap, this place is seemingly (at times) nothing. So where's the evening out point? This place prides itself (a good number of posters anyway) on NOT being sterile, of being THE Journey board that's actually fun and yet can speak our minds about almost anything. It's the times when people take it upon themselves to fuck things up, NO MATTER WHO IT IS, that this place is not fun for anyone. Feelings get hurt by people who we'll never see or meet in person. Feelings get hurt by people we have seen or met in person. There's seemingly too much tension between people who consider themselves "friends", and THAT is too bad.

I like several of the personalities I see posting here daily, but that doesn't mean I have to like what's posted by them all the time. It may not even mean we'd get along in person, but it's a good thing to be able to express our feelings and opinions. I just wish it didn't get so um, "exciting", at times.
