No worries...I've always liked that song too.

I think we've scared everyone away.

And hey, I've seen Barry Manilow in concert 3 times. I cannot believe I'm admitting that. My best friend used to make me go with her because her boyfriend refused. I must confess he actually put on a pretty good show.

My mom took me to see him when I was like 9 or 10. Don't remember how good it was...too long ago. I've always liked his music though.

Always liked this song too.

I love that song, "I'm not in love"...and, so many are bringing up memories. This one reminds me of my best friend's pink & red room (pink & red shag rug, pink walls, red t.v.... ) -- funny, how I never thought about the lyrics until now!

And, for the life of me I can't remember the title of a song from around this time that had the lyrics, "my baby's gone to heaven, so I got to be good, so I can see my baby when I leave-a-this world" Anyone??

This song always reminds me of Summer Carnivals....and that ride the "Round-Up" - the one where you stand up, are strapped in to the side of a large circular "cage-looking" thing, and then you get tilted at a 45-degree angle......while spinning.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=C6AFCJ1dLdg

They always synched that weird "accelerating" noise with the thing going up to the angle....

Scared the $#!T out of me to just WATCH it!

That's my sister's fave song. the lyrics, "the calliope crashed to the ground" would be kinda scary to hear on that ride...I remember riding in those things & the floor drops out as you are centrifuged!

Thanks, ChickPea...it came to me as I was lying down (sick with a fever & virus again!) and found this before I saw your post:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eiFdUUy9hMc& ... ed&search=

For some reason, I remember it playing in the 70s on the pop radio stations - maybe, it was re-released.

I think it might have been re-released when it was in Back To The Future. I dont remember when the first one came out. It might have been used in some other movies as well and re-released at different times.
