I agree!

EVOLUTION for me, with ESCAPE a very close second...

Great minds think alike. ;) Looks like we have 2 others joining us. 8)

I would die to hear Jeff take on "Loving You is Easy" live. Image They could do the whole album live and I would be a VERY happy camper. :D

This is always a tough choice but I'm going with Frontiers.
Loads of memories packed into that album for me.

I'm thinking that Evolution or Departure will be
a good choice for firepit time later.
They sure did have some good ones.

I'd LOVE to see someone make that argument and get deservedly ventilated and burned at the stake here. Though it is not my personal favorite, I do have it at 3 and would never attempt to deny the brilliance of that record.
Fuck the 5 hits, MAY BE the best ABLUM CUT record ever.

If you go by Herbie's logic that it's all downhill after hitting #1 then you'd have to say that ESCAPE was the beginning of the end.

I buy it. They never did match or go beyond the success of it.

I'm talking about musically, you're talking about album sales.

I thought album sales were the result of "good" music...?

Fine, I didn't.

Were that the case, I'd assume TBF had better music than Generations.

There's obviously exceptions to that "rule" but I think it's true in very general terms.

Sure - there's lots of "crap" that's sold in huge numbers. But one man's crap is another man's shit. There's a lot of people who think JOURNEY's shit is crap.

Did I just constipate things again...?

I find it fascinating how it's playing out. I wish more people would participate. It's clear that this board is pro-Perry specifically, the Escape/Frontiers years. The votes for LIVE in Houston might as well count for Escape, too.

I had to really think hard about this one. I've changed through the years. I was an Infinity fan for so long but ultimately, Dream After Dream is my favorite. It's like what their debut album might have sounded like had SP been on it.

Evolution favorite and BEST LP... GREAT all the way through not one song to skip!!
close #2 is Infinity... Feeling that Way/Anytime alone is the reason, but the whole album is not close to Evolution... ESCAPE IS OVER RATED in my opinion as the best Journey record.

Evolution for me. Though Infinity and Departure are right there with a number of my favorite songs, Evolution as a whole just does it for me. Fond memories of hearing Majestic played before the band took the stage, still takes me back.
Until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the palm of his hand.
