Reo Speedwagon at Birmingham Symphony Hall Last Night

Partial set list spoiler

Their special guests were a band called Macara or something similar sounding.
I thought they were excellent and the female vocalist had a great voice.
Wouldn`t mind knowing more about these if someone can help?

Reo played for approx 90 minutes and it was great to see them live again.

Opened up with Don`t Let Him Go and closed with Ridin` The Storm Out.

The first 4 tracks off the new album were played during the course of the evening.

Had a great time but there were a few negatives for me.
1. There were no surprises in the set list, very predictable and 90 mins was a bit short.
2. For me personally, the guitar was lost a little in the mix, not very prominent.
3. The crowd was subdued til quite late in the show, probably around Back On The Road Again is when people stayed stood up.

Apart from those few negatives it was excellent and Cronin didn`t waffle too much.

Hello iainm

A big thanks for the info.

Do they have a record contract?

Is any of their music available anywhere?

Is there any info anywhere else? Website other than myspace?

Any pics of the band floating around?

Song lists?

Thanks again

Hi, no problem.

Either Laura or Illy will send you a reply to these questions as soon as one of them gets a chance to jump online. They're obviously better placed to tell you about the availabilty of their music etc than I am.

One of them will let you know tomorrow at the latest!

hope this helps,

IainM

Hey Hey Real Rock Fan !

Glad you like the Sound!! Its great to meet fellow music lovers

We hope we can give you some of the info you're looking for..........

We are finishing our debut album at the moment. It is produced by Francis Rossi and Greg Jackman. It is a unique album as it is being recorded almost purely on a diet of mozzarella and bresoala sandwiches. We are sure that this is what you imagine any decent Rock band is inspired by
We are looking forward to putting in some serious time on the road and connecting with some people, i hope you'll be able to join us on some of them. Our website is being formed amongst some other moves to get more Info out there. There will be some tweaks to the line up in the next few weeks ( another guitarist) that we will be experimenting with. After we are sure about these changes, we'll get those things moving.
Macara has entered into a courtship dance with a major label and the next six months touring is bound to have a bearing on when our release date is. Hopefully we will be able to make some more tunes available to those who are interested in the meanwhile.

If you like, we will be sure to keep you up-to-date in this time of rapid change. The My Space page is up at the moment with gig dates dates as they come in ( www.myspace.com/macaraband) and if there is any other way to contact you (e-mail, my space, this forum...) let us know.

If there is anything else, just give us a shout.

Thanks for your interest RRF.....
