South Bend, where the concert is being held, is a college town (Notre Dame) so they may have a couple of indie type record stores...but you will probably want to concentrate on Chicago. I think your large chain stores will probably have outlets somewhere on Michigan Avenue...but if you really want to find some obscure indie stuff you would probably want to look at the near north side neighborhoods like Lincoln Park (Clark Ave and Lincoln Ave around Fullerton) and the Lakeview area (around Broadway and Belmont).

If you're going to be in Chicago, I can give you a GREAT record store - it NOT a chain. They're great for imports and ESPECIALLY stuff you can't find in the chains. Old stuff, rare stuff, DVDs...

Example - I never saw any of the Perry reissues in the chain stores, but this place had them (and all the Journey ones) and they were all $7.99. (in American $ that's freakin' awesome for newly released CDs).

PM me if you're going to be here and want the address. :D
