Another black eye in the music industry

What a waste. Are the boys in Journey really this clueless?

Jeff has won over many of us fans (not an easy task, to say the least). While not a household name yet, he already has a lot of respect in the industry, (something even Perry didn’t have). He could cover the catalogue beautifully, yet be different enough for Journey to be more than just a Perry tribute band. He has great writing skills
(which I suspect was at least one death nail - i.e. egos & control issues).

This was their chance to get (at least a little) out of the shadow of the Perry years. & a chance to forget about the Augeri fiasco. &, most importantly to me, a chance to once again gain some credibility as a legitimate band - rather than just be another nostalgic touring group.

Instead, they have made the blunder heard around the music world.

Journey is on two distinct tracks, in my world: The Steve Perry/Journey catalogue track; which is actually gaining in some favor/affection.
And the touring group of Neal & company, who have become a joke, & who may just have squandered their last bit of good will in the industry.

I thought this part hit home. :( Hmmm, I'm thinking there might be a SIG phrase in there somewhere.

I just hope that they will be man enough to say so if this is the case, rather than hiding behind some kind of pretence that it was a mutual decision. That's an integrity thing, and a Karma thing. You have to own yer own poo. And I hope they will see fit to recognise Jeff's lasting contribution to the Family, and realise that he deserves to be treated with respect.

Brian was Spot on in this case. the man respects(respected?) Journey and certainly Jeff moreso. They were good friends and for Brian to be siickened and to call Neal and Jon out on this, says a LOT. this is a REAL musician who wants answers, and even offeres his own take on what they could or should have done, even goes so far as to say it could have fits the Queen situation as well. This guy knows what the heck he's talking about. People should listen.

Karma will indeed come back to haunt these guys. As for integrity, they lost that a while ago.
