Just listened to the clips, he has KIND OF the same inflections, but only sounds close to Perry in the high, upper registers when he uses his power....for basic verse singing, he doesn't come close. You can even hear a small accent( not sure if he is american, maybe its just me). And he also cuts off certain words at the end. Not that bad though.

You're all missing the obvious contender.....

I wonder how would have Journey sounded like if they went thru with Geoff Tate (Queensryche's vocalist) back in 1998. when they did some rehearsals with him, after Perry's leaving and before Augeri's joining... somewhere was said by Neal Schon that they've written really cool song together back then...

After seeing Escape live many many times I can say that song is not a good representation of Jasons abilities. I have some tapes on the way from an old escape fan that I will post. You will be blown away when you hear them. 1st time I saw them I just was picking my jaw up off of the floor after each song. Not just the singing but the whole band was just bad ass ! Dead on harmonies which is what most tribute acts seem to fuck up. The guitar player even did a dead on Rollie !

You're preaching to the choir here. I have maintained that Sunset & Vine is reminiscent of E5C4P3 era Journey. The best CD of the young century so far, for me.

thanks for recommending this cd, have been listening to it and it's sweet and fat-free, love it, thank you. 8)

I actually hadn't heard that before. Thanks for posting. I have to say....I never heard of that guy in my life, but he sounds as close to Perry as anyone I've ever heard!

Tony Mills could pull the gig off in a NY minute. He's a hybrid of perry, jeremy, jon anderson and maybe a few others.

Mickey Thomas should have been their choice in 1984......they should have fired Perry and then continued

Now its too late, and Perry is the only choice
