Steve Augeri will always be excluded from my complaints of the band....same goes for Ross as he was quite warm and gracious when I met him...had a nice cup of coffee with the guy. It's basically fro (and to a lesser extent, fucka) that have ruined it for me.

Tales Of Meeting The Band

Postby Tracie555 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 12:31 pm

Actually, the first time I had the pleasure (or unpleasure) of meeting Neal, I was 17yrs old at the NAMM show. I just remember being so nervous because I idolized him. He was such an asshole!!! He was at his Schon Guitar booth with his (very pregnant) wife at the time. I was totally quiet and polite, but he acted as if I wasn't even on the same planet. His wife made him take a picture with me, which afterwards I realized that he had made a crazy face when he took the picture anyway. His wife felt so bad that the rest of the weekend at the NAMM show, everytime she saw me walking she made it a point to come over and show me where any of the other musicians were.

That same weekend, Randy Jackson came up to me when he saw that I had my ROR sweatshirt on. He was very nice, spandex and all :) Steve Smith and Jonathon Cain were also very nice to me. So, it made up for Neal crushing me earlier.

In regards to Neal, I did get to meet again twice in the last few years and he was very nice to me. I figured that age had humbled him a bit, or that I was just too young to hit on back in 1987 :D

Ooh, Steve Augeri and Jeff were both sweethearts when I got the pleasure of meeting them :D

Bye-4-Now :D

Tracie

One would think that if he were sitting in his booth, which was clearly set up for a meet & greet, he'd actually TRY to be courteous and kind. The fact that he wasn't shows how little class he had. Sorry Tracie... that sucks big time. Two thumbs up for his wife tho.

I've met Steve Smith, who is the only one from Journey I've met (ok.. I saw Ross walking past me in a casino once, and he was moving at a pace that clearly read "don't fuckin come up to me". Smitty was pure gentleman, easy to talk to, took time and actually paid attention when you spoke (not the glazed over look some can get). Class A, can't say one word against the man. His eyes bugged out big time when he saw my Robyn Flans book, which he signed. NICE!

I've met so many other 'rockstars'.... and all have been absolutely fantastic. Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) comes to mind as one of the most humble guys I've EVER met. I get to meet Rob Zombie this Friday... he's filming (or refilming I should say) a scene or two for Halloween this week, and my buds bringing me to the set. Malcolm McDowall & Rob Zombie. Booyah!

Marty- You had a special in to the band, so no wonder you got better treatment than some. I will tell you ,you better wear a knight's armor if you start fielding BT again. This is not going to go away anymore than Perry.Probably a ripple ,compared to Perry, but it still finishes them. I do not want to pay to see people w/o class or lesser frontmen. Jeff was such a pro that he repaired some of the Perry damage and yet those 2 silly, delusional muscians think it is about them. Bands are ALWAY about the lead singer 1st, quality of written music and band playing live are 2nd but makes a great band with hits.

Actually, Neal wasn't at a Meet N Greet, he was just kind of hanging out at his booth. There was only one other person around, other then his wife. Ooh, I did forget that I had the pleasure of meeting Ross at the WOF luncheon. He was sooo nice it was almost weird :D

Very cool with the Rob Zombie thing :D Let us know how that is, and if Rob is cool and is as weird as he seems. LOL!!!

Take care :D

From all reports, Rob is just plain a nice guy... and his wife is a sweetie. I'm looking forward to it. I tend to doubt pictures will be permitted tho, as it's a live set. It's all good tho.

It must really have been you and you're attitude towards Neal that made him respond in the way he did. Most people here have had pleasant expreiences, ofcourse Neal also has days that he's less pleasant to be with, but don't we all haver those days.

There are hundreds of so called upcoming stars who treat people like shit. You have to remember that Neal has to deal with fans, friendly and obnocious, for over 30 years now and imho he's doing a great job.

So stop the bashing and show some more respect.

What the fuck does THAT mean, anyway? Just stating my opinion. Has nothing to do with your presence here or anyone elses.

Not you. the other jrox. the crazy one.

dude, I'd change that name if I were you, she is now trying to lay the blame at your feet for a lot of the crazy things she posts.

It would never be opened.
I'll do what I do and popularity will ensue for the right reasons or not, but I'll still be sleeping at night.
