Will JSS cover Journey?
I think it's only fair and right he roll a few Jrny tunes out.

Soul SirkUs' Highest Ground might fit right smartly too.

It's not a personal thing. I'm not thinking of myself and my hearing Journey tunes. Do you think he wants to go there just yet? I can't speak for him but he has an hour to sing and he has a huge catalog of music that DOES NOT include Journey, why would he do that?

"Go there yet?" :? Please, what do you think he'd break down in the middle of a song, and just go "I'm sorry. I just can't DO this." ala Micheal in Eddie And The Cruisers?
Answering to "why?" one reason would be because he's a professional and neither would I deign to speak for him, but I'd venture a guess that he is taking the Journey split with far less venom than a great deal of people here.
Another reason would be that, with all due respect to JSS (and I have bought both versions of World Play and the RockStar Sdtk because I like them a lot), the Journey catalog are some of the more recognizeable things he's done. I don't think would do anything but further the show for him to do a Journey song or 2 and/or a Soul SirkUs song or 2.

Yeah, right I think he's gonna break down!! Please give me more credit than that. I don't think I or you can speak for how Jeff feels right now. That's his own personal business. I just wonder if it will be on his top 20 songs to sing list. He can sing whatever he wants and I'll be happy. I personally would rather hear him do some NEW songs of his own, Talisman and some of his solo stuff. I have heard him sing Journey for the last year and I am okay with a break from that. I would agree a Soul Sirkus song or two would be nice. (look I agreed on something  ) I guess you just need to get yourself to the show so you can see in person the end result :P

Well, you did kind of imply that it would somehow be too painful or something for him to "go there." I just don't think it would. I don't think he's sitting around w/ a 1,000-yard-stare fondling cutlery. And if he does want to rub the band's nose in shit, a good way to do it would be to kick ass one last time on songs he was making his own.
I definately can't speak for him but I think that given his statements and postings on the boards this is a bump, albeit a disappointing one, in his road but I think he's much further along the road to recovery than some fans.

One of the last posts I saw him make here was "I've got a career to resurrect!"

Yeah, he does have a career to resurrect. And what better place to start than South Bend. I didn't necessarily mean it would be "painful" for him to go there, but rather maybe he just won't want to. Journey was a dream, they squashed it, he's moved on. I'm sure someday he will sing it, and who knows maybe you're right and a few months down the road he will. I would just be very surprised is all. I would much rather him show people what he can do with his own music.

And I'm not on some sort of road to recovery. I have felt bad for the way he was treated and I am still mad I don't get an album. I will gladly follow his solo career now and I just feel Journey has nothing left for me but my old CD's. I hardly think that is dramatic. It's simply how I feel.

Now answer everyone's question! Are you going to South Bend?

Doesn't mean I'm not buying tix though, I love 'Drew above all but the closest I will come is sending a cardboard "Standup Joe" cutout in my stead w/ NealIsGod.

Screw that, he's got too much of his own material to cover in an hour! Besides I think I'd rather see him do a Queen song. :)
