Wowee...thanks for posting that. Yep, this is the way I remember it - the only time I saw SP in concert was '79 the Evolution tour.
I gotta figure out how to download it so it isn't so choppy.

Awesome! Thanks for posting it. I need a fix like that every once in a while to remind myself why I am here to begin with.

Thanks for posting the link. That vintage of Journey is my favorite as well. Man they were good. Bring back Rolie!

Cool video but I think the video is from 1980 not '79 unless they were doing "Departure" songs back in '79 already.

Great video!

But I agree, this is probably from 1980. I doubt they were playing songs from Departure in '79. Plus their garb (most notably SP's short tails) looks like stuff they wore on the Departure Tour.

Yup, that's definitely 1980, not '79. I remember that Departure tour well. Awesome!

I do agree with ya'll!
My question is this...
Didn't they tour before the album came out? I seem to recall him saying they have a new album out INFINITY! :D
MY GOD!!! THAT WAS SO LONG AGO!

This video looks like the Nakano Sun Plaza show, dated 10-10-80.

Here is the setlist for that concert:

1. Where Were You
2. Just The Same Way
3. Lovin' You Is Easy
4. Too Late
5. Pre Perry song
6. Pre Perry song
7. People and Places
8. Precious Time
9. Lights
10. Stay Awhile
11. Dixie Highway
12. Homemade Love
13. Anytime
14. Walks Like a Lady
15. La Do Da
16. Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'
17. Wheel In The Sky
18. Any Way You Want It
19. I'm Cryin'
20. Line of Fire

I thought I would throw out that bit of information. 8)

I believe that the live version of 'Lights' that appeared on 'Captured' is from this show. This was also one of the last (if not the last) live show with Gregg Rolie.
