AS IN ANY "CLASSIC ROCK" ACT NOWADAYS....

NO MICHAEL ANTHONY = NO VAN HALEN

The "Sammy" situation gave place to a totallly different Van Halen, so the last reunion was as legit as one with Dave.

But no Michael? I don't give a shit if the new singer's last name is also Van Halen. This is 75% legit, at best.

No Perry = No Journey (hell, it wasn't "Journey-esque" enough for me on ROR, without Ross and Stevie).

No De Young = No Styx. That's a given. I give props to Gowan for his energy and his writing skills, but his singing equals nails on a chalboard. Cyclorama is a brilliant record. But it wasn't STYX.

No Frehley = No Kiss. The Vincent and Kulick eras were as valid as the Hagar one on VH. But if they are wearing the make up, why the fuck do they force us to all this Tommy Thayer fiasco? Kiss has become a casino act. Sad. I'd say the same about Peter Criss, but he can't play anymore, so...

This stupid ego shit is nauseous.

At least Rush are still together. And the Police (if only for a tour, and that's enough).

I have to agree. A tour may make money, and I may even pay to see it. But it will be a disappointment. It wont be Van Halen. Michael Anthony is underated. Maybe he didnt write the songs, and he may be an average bass player, but he was a big part of the band and his vocals gave them a unique sound and it wont be the same without him, it wont be Van Halen. This is a big mistake, its going to be a joke. It wont look like Van Halen on the stage because wont be Van Halen, itll be 75% of Van Halen. I guess Roth and Van Halen finally together is better than nothing, but just barely.

And it doesnt even matter if the replacement is technically better, I passed on the latest KISS show because Ace wasnt there, and it doesnt really matter if the fake Ace can play better, he probably can, but thats not the point. Until people stop paying to see these fake reunion tours they will continue.

I am going to Def Leppard soon and so I am forced to pay to see "Foreigner" which I think has 1 original member -- it may as well be some crappy Foreigner tribute band playing a bar somewhere. Very Lame.

I agree. This is just the same crap VH fed us before Eddie went to rehab. I myself will not go see VH with Wolfgang on bass.No matter how good the kid may be,I would rather see them with Michael Anthony and the rest of the original members.

Makes me wonder all that crap Wolfgang said about him not being able to handle it and being too young to be the bass player of Van Halen was just some publicity stunt.

Van Halen is a joke nowadays.Plain and simple.Eddie and Alex pretty much killed Van Halen.

How good can a 16 year old teenager be?

Replacing an Van Halen-icon like Michael Anthony is definately not possible!
