Missing Jeff, how could they?

Postby ArnelRox » Fri Jul 27, 2007 11:27 am

Wasn't it fun here just a few months ago? Do u guys remember those days?

Jeff was a regular poster here. We were all going to Journey shows & just totally loving his performances. We would come back w/videos, pix, everyone would get excited. There were fun parties being thrown. People were flying all over the place to see Jeff. We were looking at fantastic reviews where everyone was excited about the band. Jeff was telling us all about the new album. We read Andrew's feature about how Neal was writing stuff for Jeff's voice. Even the loons & wigglers were getting behind this new exciting incarnation of the band. We were all uniting as fans once again behind our favorite band. Oh those were the good times.

Looking back at the YouTube clips, looking over photos, how could this band have just done this? Why? WTF is their problem?

Now it's depressing to be a Journey fan, embarassing. They don't even have a fucking website for God's sake. They've been around for 30+ years & they don't have a website. Every garage band out there has one. Not Journey. What a disgrace our favorite band has become.

Shameless really. That they have lost all sense of creativity and are content just to bilk the fans out of their hard earned cash just to hear the same fucking things we've been hearing for the last thirty years. They had a guy who wanted to be creative and give the fans some GREAT new music and the Egomaniacal dwarf from Oz and his wicked witch of the West Keyboard player killed that just like the house falling on the witch.

This band would be better off w/out that particular witch. Oh & get rid of the dwarf too. They could be replaced.

Dwarf? Perry, too? 'Cause he's only about an inch or so taller than Neal.

he cost too much money, became THE SHOW.. they didnt want to write , he cost too much money.. its about using people and then casting them aside.. if i remember correctly, once Jeff was in front , all the odd songs started coming back,, the leaders of the band started thinking they were huge and great again and that it was THEY that made it happen..

if the band would just relax and let the front man do his job (sounding like perry or sounding like himself) and take control of the show like the old days, they would be much better,, being a household name aint easy...ya know..

Er...which is exactly what I heard when I saw them with JSS in March. They didn't play a SINGLE SONG from after 1983. Great show - but please cut the crap with all this talk of 'creativity'.

This is what I am talking about. I remember when the 3 Florida shows were going on. People were jacked up too see the shows. Hell I rented a limo to the Pompano Show so me and the wife could party it up. My wife while not the huge fan like myself, was so excited we had great seats and she was excited to be able too see JSS up close ( i guess it was a chick thing ). They played some oldies and we were very excited a what was too come from this band. The new lineup kicked some ASS. The band had BALLS, they were bringing down the house each night. It was a complete perfromance. Not just 5 guys going through the motion's.

Everyone was ecited to come read the reviews daily. We all begged for Andrews feature but it had too wait for"the news" to become offical that JSS was going to be named the lead singer. The pooof its all gone, all Andrews hard worka nad all of our excitment was out the window.

Damn, it really is depressing isn't it? I don't know what happened and I miss the fun we had with Jeff too. I'll never forget meeting him and seeing him perform with Journey.

If they choose Jeremey I hope he can re-ignite some fire in this band and it's fans. I know he has the voice and the stage presence. He'll have a tough row to hoe though when it comes to getting the ones who are just fed up to give him a chance. If he can't do that, I think the Journey is over.

Yes...I was under that illusion too, but some people have strange and bizarre ideas on this big blue marble that we live on don't they? :-) I left a forum early this year because of strange Ideas like this; aparently you weren't allowed to post on it, because then it would mean you were creating too much conversation!! which is why I left it..I just found a little strange...I mention it as an analogy to the fact that Jeff is exactly what a LEAD singer, front man, however you care to address him should be, as conversation is to a forum, but obviously the minds of some work in mysterious ways ;-)
