Historic Concert Tour Marks First of its Kind for Van Halen in 22 Years
Los Angeles, CA -- August 13, 2007

Beginning this September, in what promises to be the most exciting live tour this year, Van Halen will embark on a national concert tour throughout the U.S. and Canada with its original lead singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 22 years.

Considered by fans and media alike as one of the most highly anticipated tours in rock and roll history, Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen will perform with Eddie's son, Wolfgang who joins the line-up as the band's bass player. Van Halen and Roth have not performed or recorded together since 1984's classic multi-platinum album 1984 and subsequent tour, making this tour truly a historic event.

25 dates in all were announced today for the tour which is slated for a September 27th kick-off in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tickets for select dates on the tour go on sale beginning on Saturday, August 18th and are available on www.LiveNation.com. A complete list of confirmed dates can be found at http://www.van-halen.com/tour.html. The Van Halen tour is being produced by Live Nation. Individuals who have the Citi® / AAdvantage® card, the official credit card of the tour, will be offered access to purchase preferred seats to all U.S. shows.

Fans can enjoy the ultimate Van Halen experience including concert pre-show parties, backstage access, premium seating and more. For additional details go to www.ILoveAllAccess.com.

Fans are encouraged to also check in at www.Van-Halen.com or www.DavidLeeRoth.com for additional information.

Van Halen remains one of the most important and influential bands of all time. Formed in Los Angeles in 1974, the band quickly won a loyal hometown fan base with their electrifying live shows. From the moment they released their self-titled 1978 debut album, Van Halen shook the foundations of rock, thanks largely to Roth's peerless showmanship, Eddie Van Halen's revolutionary guitar virtuosity and their songwriting abilities. It changed rock music forever.

The band's first album proved one of the biggest selling rock debuts, with key tracks like "Eruption," "Running with the Devil," "Jamie's Cryin'," "You Really Got Me" and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" leading the way. The next year, the band followed up with Van Halen II, which included the hit "Dance the Night Away."

Subsequent albums like Women and Children First (1980), Fair Warning (1981) and Diver Down (1982), along with worldwide touring, solidified the band's reputation for innovative and unparalleled live performances. Classic Van Halen tracks from the early 80's include "Everybody Wants Some," "Unchained", "And The Cradle Will Rock", "Beautiful Girls", "Mean Street" and "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" just to name a few.

With their sixth album, released in, and titled 1984, Van Halen rose to stratospheric heights. Recorded at Eddie Van Halen's 5150 Studios, the multi-platinum smash yielded one of Van Halen's signature hits, "Jump," which remained #1 on the Billboard charts for an astounding five weeks straight. Other hits from the album include "Panama," "Hot For Teacher" and "I'll Wait."

The band's record of achievement is hard to top. Presented with two Diamond Award RIAA Certified Status' for their albums Van Halen and 1984, Van Halen joins an elite short list of two time Diamond Award honorees in the history of the music industry. The Diamond Award is presented to an artist for album sales of 10 million or more units. They are also in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most #1 hits on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart than any other band in history.

Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in March of this year, Van Halen has produced a treasured body of work that fans will admire for decades to come.

I saw Journey/Styx/REO Speedwagon at this venue. The acoustics suck there. It would be much better if they had this at Verizon Wireless Music Center just down from my house.

I've seen Dave several times in recent years and only paid like $35 dollars or so per show. All Van Halen set. No way I'm going to cough up what they will be asking to see this tour. I'd like to go and all, but it makes no sense.

Oh that greedy, hightfully challenged piece of vermin Azoff and his "I Love to Rip Off Fans" (I mean All Access) has already started their promotion.

Leave Wolfie alone. What even is the point to make mean comments about him. To make yourself feel better. Are you all so perfect and in shape!?!?!?!?!?! He lost a ton of his baby fat. He is actually buffer than that picute makes him look. He will always have a heavier face. Check out the photo of him in the VH forum under something about are these guys ready to rock.
This sort of shit totally pisses me off. There's no point in/to making comments about him. Has nothing to do with the tour. His whole life he has been under the microscope and will continue to be. Just because he decides to tour with his dad doesn't mean need to take shots at him.
I bet you are in such perfect shape that you can make fun of him.
People who slam other people for how they look, either look like shit themselves or feel like shit about themselves. If it fits, wear it.
You put someone down, you are only putting yourself down.
Anyone who slams Wolfie for his looks, I will assume feels like crap about themselves or hates how they look.

Laughable, I'm in far better shape that Wolfie, that's for shit sure!

Here's the thing. He's chosing to tour with his dad. Can anyone say nepotism? And no, he did NOT live his life under the microscope....the microscope only started the day he took Michael Anthony's job...Sorry, if you think my calling attention to his weight is bad?

Wait until the fucking kid starts playing!! He'd better NAIL every bass line perfectly...he'd better hit every fucking note michael anthony sang. Sorry, when you got your gig, solely because daddy is EVH....you're going to be under the microscope.

and ANOTHER THING. EVH, Just 8 months ago, sat on Howard Stern and made ALL SORTS of fat jokes at Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. Sorry, shit flows both ways....if Eddie can dish it out, he's going to have to catch it too!

Wow...It was worth coming here today just for this.
While it's a weird feeling not to see Mickey in those pics (and I can't utter a bad word about Wolfie,he's an innocent kid living his dream),it's wonderful to see those other 3 guys together again...

I loved Sammy to pieces, but for some reason this re-incarnation has a certain aura.
I just hope it doesn't look like that only from the outside. :?

All 'poetry' aside...Damn.The ticket prices are NUTS!
Business is business,I guess...

Have fun all of you who will see the shows.I'm envious. :(

I gotta say, however...I'm watching the press conference....and irrespective of the extra steel bracing that will undoubtedly be required on stage right...I'm getting a little psyched bout this. Hopefully ticket prices (face value) won't be rediculous.

Appears they are practicing at E Ruthorford, NJ at the old Brendan Byrne Arena late August and early September.
