Same here. I've heard some of the Journey covers, but not the solo stuff. Love "Walk Away." Time to go ebaying to see what I can pick up. 8)

Exactly. Hugo could get at least as much respect with his own career as Kevin Chalfant, Terry Brock, Fergie Frederiksen, Tony Mills or Ted Poley, but the price for it would be to ditch Evolution and Perryism...

I was surprised when Hugo started doing the Evolution thing again, I liked his solo stuff quite a bit.

The whole "apeing" Perry thing is just too weird for me.

Interesting site!

Understand something, Hugo does not need Journey...Journey needs Hugo...and the only thing that's funny is all the sour grapes coming from the Jeremey fans...

Understood Gator but you also understand something, I'm not a Jeremey fan

Also understood, so why would you think the launch of Hugo's web site has any thing to do with him trying to get in to Journey when he is about to release his 4th CD? It's called promotion and marketing for his album!

Well, I guess the uncanny resemblence to Perry on the opening page distracts from his mesage relating to the new album I guess :?

Thanks for posting that. Nice shots of Neal's hands. Maybe I can learn the right way to play it now.

I think Hugo's original site went down due to a falling out between him and the guy who made and maintained the site for him. He's a great talent. I find his originals sound more Journey like than anything Schon and Cain have done since ROR. Sad that I'll get my fix for new Journey material from Hugo over Journey themselves. :?

Andrew made this comments about Hugo at the beginning of review of Hugo's second solo album, Time On Earth:

"Hugo was the front man for two much talked about bands. The more hard rock Valentine and then the softer Open Skyz.
But none of them matched the impact that Hugo's self titled debut album made. That album was released in 1997 to amazing critical and fan reaction. It was musically backed by Gary Hughes, Vinny Burns and the rest of the Ten gang, with Hugo also helping out. It was and still is touted as the album Journey should have recorded, when in that same year, they released Trial By Fire."

I couldn't agree more... It's fantastic album. I hope Ramos/Hugo would be at least half as good. :D

I couldn't have said it better myself. Excellent post. Bring on the Hugo/Ramos CD!
