I'm not part of the group of fans...(fuck I'm not even a fan of this band anymore)....that has spent the past 10 years pining for the return of a retired man just desperate to get away from psychos like yourself, hots and others...Face it. The messiah has left the building...he's not coming back. If you have a disease you want him to cure, you missed your chance back in 1986!

Right, you have twice if not more as many posts talking about Steve Perry than I do, do not confuse yourself Frank. Stop bashing the fans on these sites, no one keeps you here if you hate them so much. For the record, I hope Perry never comes back, what's there to come back to? oh and ... I'll try and be nicer if you'll try and be smarter, k?

Do yourself a favor, and stick to what you know....and then, maybe, you *might* be in a position to discuss your *own* intelligence.

Uh yeah the reunion tour was offered back in 1996 and the messiah walked or limped away and left everyone hanging for 2 years with maybes. Why do that again? I don't want the reunion. It is way more fun laughing at all of the fawners on these message boards that get wet in the panties every time someone tells them the guy just wiped his ass and there were 5 kernels of corn in the stool. FOR THE LAST TIME - STEVE PERRY IS NOT COMING BACK TO JOURNEY. NOT NOW NOT EVER! And I will now pause for the fawners to finish their orgasms at the mention of his name.

Right. There are many performers and people in the business who admire his talent & were inspired by it - not just "obsessive fans". Besides, where would we be without "some" obsessiveness? I'm really glad for those fans that kept interviews/pics/bootlegs of concerts - all the stuff I missed. :) Everything in moderation, I say...there are obviously some nutcases out there, or here. :D

Perry hasn't been seen in public (in a musical context, forget that White Sox bullshit) for over 10 years....and still Loons raise the man up on some angelic pedastal....desperate to see the return of the messiah....embarassing *real* Journey fans for the past decade with their unparalleled obsessiveness. Why on earth would Perry return to bring all of these kooks out of the woodwork.

You're such an old hypocrite, Strangegrey. You regularly put Augeri right up on "some angelic pedestal" and won't have a word said against him. You have a fan's mentality just as much as anyone else here - despite your hollow claims to have lost interest in the band. And if you want to go and see some "kooks" your own cultish site is the best place to find them....

Anyway, you're just pissed off because the Loons were right all along. They were the real Journey fans. The fans who had standards. The fans who expected something special from the band. Not you flakey bullshit artists who kept making excuses and apologies for the band's slide into mediocrity after Perry left and who have jumped on every available bandwagon ever since.

As for you, Chief....I don't know why you come to this forum either. You spend your entire time slagging off people who are still fans of Perry, Schon and Cain - and indeed the musicians themselves - yet I have no sense whatsoever about what or who you actually like - apart from the messageboard tough guys who you suck up to the whole time. Do you even own a Journey CD?

Matthew,

1st and foremost I suck up to NO ONE! I mix it up with the so called "tough guys " you speak of just like everyone else.
2nd I own every album from the original "Journey" right up to "Generations"

To answer your other nonsensical questions, I have no desire to debate you since I get better reception from my kitchen wallpaper when it comes to intellectual reasoning about things. I have neither the time nor the patience to go around and around with you on one subject because you from what I have seen latch onto one item and beat it to DEATH. I cite your 28 page diatribe on why you love Jonathan Cain and everybody else's opinion of the guy is WRONG?

Find someone else to pick a fight with. I refuse to fight a deaf, dumb and blind individual.

"Don't Crack the Stone" had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE "Name" Journey. It had to do with the five of them 'being' Journey. In other words, "Please don't replace me because we will never come back together again." The entire speach was made to reserve HIS place in the band...not to preserve the band name, or some legacy, or whatever other crap you Perry fans invent.

"there's no going back..." if you replace me. Together we are Journey so "Don't crack the stone." "Do whatever you want, with whoevr you want, but leave Journey alone..." because it is my band and I don't want to be replaced and you just can't do this to me cuz, well, I'm Steve Perry, ya know!

When did Perry talk about the "Journey name" or the "Journey legacy" in the BTM? Show it to me.

Eh...No, not talking about THAT. Talking about when people go off because something is not going their way here.

Oh. My bad.

I dunno. Maybe someone should ask your wife?

Oh, she could make a sailor blush.

After she got Alzheimer's, my Granny could cuss like nobody's business. Words we didn't even know that she knew!

Once, she stood up in a restaurant and started cussing like a sailor at no one and for no reason in particular. My grandad tried to get her to sit down and she started cussing at him. He finally was able to get her to shut up, but then they just left the restaurant because he was too embarassed to even eat.

Losing your memory is a tragic thing, though the results are sometimes pretty funny. All we could do was laugh because we would have cried all day about her condition otherwise.

Hark at Socrates here!

All this from the intellect which keeps coming up with posts such as "fuck you go fuck yourself you got cum dribble on your face"....and then runs away like a little mouse when anyone responds.

For a hopelessly devoted Augeri fan and prayer circle veteran like yourself to question anyone's masculinity...well, it's just too absurd for words. But hey... this joke clearly gives you a lot of pleasure...given that you type it out at least once every day...so don't let me spoil it for you, Strangegrey.

I pretty much agree with this, Monker - but it might not have been as black and white as you're making out. Sure, he was primarily thinking about himself but he - like Steve Smith - knew that the band's reputation and status would go down the plug-hole without him. Which it has.

And if he did have pride and affection for the Journey 'institution' - which I believe he did - then knowing the band was about to go down the path of mediocrity and failure would have been a tough prospect - given that he was so central in building up that institution in the first place.

So much as Perry probably was the archetypal egotistical rock frontman - and as much as you want to punish him for being like that instead of being some people-pleasing employee - it doesn't therefore follow that he had NO feelings at all for Journey name itself.

See Matthew,

Just as predicted you picked one part of my post latched on to it and claimed victory. Where is the rest of my post in quotes? You said I sucked up to the "tough guys" here. Where is your response to that? This is why a debate with you is about the most useless exercise anyone on these boards could ever partake of. You pick and choose what words to work off of and that's all you want to run with.

Besides that Frank does a pretty good job kicking your ass all by himself. I can't improve on perfection like his.

The rest of your post simply denied that you suck up to the 'tough guys'. Fine. You deny it. I'm not sure what else there is to say about that issue.
