9/13 concert

Postby Just Sara » Mon Sep 24, 2007 3:00 pm

I was able to win tickets to the 9/13 concert at the Mountain Winery. I wasn't sure what to expect. I love Lou Gramm but I'd never heard the current singer. I figured it was a Foreigner concert and that was the important thing.

Omygosh, I was completely blown away!!! Kelly Hansen is brilliant! They all had so much energy.

Needless to say the whole concert was amazing. But for me the highlights would have to be finally hearing Starrider live, the acoustic "Say You Will", live "Jukebox Hero" with the touch of Led Zepplin and the cover of "Misty Mountain Hop" (I thought the people behind me were going to faint when that one started up!).

I was such an amazing show!

Was anyone else there?

I wasn't at the 9/13 concert, but I was in Vegas this weekend and saw them on Saturday night at Mandalay Bay, sold out, and I agree, Kelly did a great job, there were even a few moments when I forgot it wasn't Lou. He did add alot of energy on stage, the only disappointment was they went on first so there were only a handful of songs. I would definitely go see them again given the chance when they are not the "warm-up". Styx was wonderful as they always are and did mostly hits off The Grand Illusion, and Chuck came out and played a couple songs. Def Leppard gave it their all and the crowd sang every song at the top of their lungs, the place was rocking for sure , it was a great night all around. I was very fortunate to actually meet Tommy Shaw and JY the night before the concert walking down the lobby at the Mirage, what are the odds, nice guys, friendly and conversational, and I have photos, so I was ecstatic over that! We are so lucky these bands are still playing, even though some of the original guys are gone, they still come through for the fans!
