Sounds like it could be a good time. While I consider people of Irish descent and their bars the most nauseating on the planet with their "Kiss Me I'm Irish", "Thank God I'm Irish" and "South Side Irish" bullshit t-shirts, this sounds like it could be a good show. I think I'll wear my "Fuck you, I'm American" shirt. How good are these bands?

How about some writing and live playing and record deals because their talent is recognized ? Tribute bands are everywhere.

Hey squirt......we've all been down that road many, many years ago. Played on the road in the late eighties with a band called "the Blitz" 25 states including Alaska and a 2 week stay in Canada before being escorted to the border :) not my fault......had label interest with CBS Records and then the whole Seattle grunge thing screwed everything up for us. It's just been the last 5-6 years where we can actually go out and play great AOR Rock music and people come in droves to hear it. Now at our age, just turned 40 yesterday.....it's about having as much fun, playing music we love to play for people who enjoy hearing it. That's all!!! Good luck to those who still have aspirations of success with original material.....the music business is NOT the same as it was back then.

As far as Tribute bands being all over.....really its because of the cover bands playing this stuff over and over again in the clubs for the last 20 plus years that has kept the music alive.....and extended the careers of many of these bands.

Yes Rick we do have a few clips available on YouTube....the easiest way to see them is to go to our myspace where there is also live audio from a show last December.

www.myspace.com/separatewayslive

we also have a 70's / 80's classic rock band that we perform as the majority of the time called "Replica". There are clips available for that group also at: www.myspace.com/replicabandlive

Thanks for the interest....wish you could make it!!

This show is tomorrow evening and we're expecting a great turn-out! There will be a cover charge and both bands will be doing a 2 hour set!

Thanks for all the kind words, and for what it's worth;

I understand the need to make comparisons between the tribute bands, and the idea that one is somehow better than another. I have always taken the approach that anyone willing to get up on stage and try to cover songs by "any" artist is opening themselves up to comparison and critism ("cover" bands are always held to a higher degree of excellence than the original artists most of the time). It appears that JOURNEY has a number of talented musicians who love their music and do their very best to cover the songs to the best of their abilities, and we are scattered about the country so we don't really compete with each other except here on the web. My advice is to get out and support who-ever is trying to do the music justice in your own market and have a great time. We can't change what JOURNEY will do in the future, but we can certainly celebrate and remember the best of their past.
