I think AR should send in a demo tape. In fact I think there is some video somewhere he could use.
Tell me THAT wouldn't be from left field! LOL

Well then you're without a favorite band because Journey was over years ago.

Let me rephrase that. You're without a favorite LIVE band that does new Journey music. Frontiers does the hits as well if not better than they did with Augeri or will with Pineta.

I knew I would get flamed for that..haha.. I was rolling! I have no problem with Frontiers.. Honestly, until there is a new singer announced, the board here is going to be underwhelming.. Its going to be about how much Journey sucks and JSS was the savior..Sigh...

Journey never sucked 69...past tense We are not responsible for their actions but please don't throw off on Jeff Scott Soto.I had never seen him till Saturday in South Bend and let me tell you he was totally awesome and I'm sure there are several thousnad that will say the same. As great as he was I kept thinking what is wrong with them guys(Journey).End of story.

I know JSS is good.. I'm sure he's a really cool guy.. I love Journey, they are the ones that got me into listening to music when I was young..I will support them,I don't care if their lead singer is a martian. I expect new music tho..If not,I won't go to any concerts..I just think they have great music in them and they need to make it!

My vote would go to Timothy Lewis of 'Departure'. He sang on their third album, 'Corporate Wheel'. Just my .02.

Jeremey does write his own music

Postby tinylights » Sat Oct 13, 2007 3:52 am

Response to Journey 69:

Jeremey from Frontiers has written his own music - check out the following mp3s.

http://www.journeytributeband.com/elementaltunez.htm

and it really showcases what new Journey tunes w/ Jeremey at the helm would have been like.

He sounds now, like Steve Perry sounded 20 years ago... Which is to say that he sounds more like Steve than Steve sounds like Steve.

Wow, that sounded great! I love how Jeremey can maintain the Perry sound yet throw in his own unique style also. I would love to have a copy of this on CD. I wanted to hear how he sounded on stuff other than Journey and this is impressive. Yeah, I'm afraid Journey may have missed the boat on this one.

"Rolling Away the Stone" is one of my favorite tunes. The other tunes are pretty good as well.

JOE LYNN TURNER!!!

Yeah, I know, no chance of that EVER happening... but personally, IF Arnel gets the job... I think he will do well... I don't really understand what everyone has against him. From what I've seen recently, Journey has more fair-weather fans than just about any other band. Granted, they shouldn't have let a talent as great as JSS go, but until we know what exactly is going on, we shouldn't sit here and bash a band that we have absolutely no idea what their current reasoning state is. Arnel, Jeremey, Hugo, Kevin Chalfant, ...STEVE PERRY? I'll support just about any great singer who comes along for the band and does the catalog (and hopefully NEW material) justice!!!

How's that for a FIRST post on the board?

Any lead singer worthy of fronting any band would not even waste their time with Journey. Not with their reputation.

Thats right, I think they approached some excellent singers, but they all turned it down, so that's why they are going for Arnel, no reputation in the music business, hits, or world wide success, I don't even know who "The Zoo" are, Arnel has nothing to lose, but only maybe a better paycheck?. Journey? well... they just stopped caring, along time ago.

Give it up, Journey's Elvis left the building in 96.
