This is the reason why I can't back him. I've listened to many of his youtube videos, and noted that he struggles repeatedly. He'll slide into notes as opposed to hitting them, and that's something my music teacher would box my ears for. Hit the dang notes, and hit them clear.

U are aware that some of those videos were shot after Arnel had been performing for as long as 5 hours right? The sound quality isnt that good on many of them. He hits those notes just fine. I'm not trying to convince u to "back him" just adding what I can. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Then how is he going to handle the rigors of touring with Journey? Their tour schedule is nuts... The sound quality was fine, the problem is that he doesn't have the breath control. I just listened to his version of Faithfully again, and I swear, i had to turn it off, breath groups are all over the place on it. Scratchy, breathy... not up to speed for Journey songs by a long shot. Sorry.

He just turned 40. He started playing w/a band when he was 16. He had a lot of acclaim & fame (in Asia only) & he won Best Vocalist in the World Band Explosion 2 years in a row.

No they were in the 80s like I said above. He did win another Best Vocalist in Battle of the Bands in 2005 tho. Before someone says it, this doesnt make him cheesy. He's had 2 record deals w/major labels in Asia, Warner Bros & MCA.

Yeah u said that last time & I still vehemently disagree. But we get a choice in the matter & that's what's wonderful. I don't like every singer & there are many u couldn't pay me to go see so I am not surprised u dont like everyone either. I have friends who cant stand Perry's voice & wouldnt have paid money to hear it even in 1981, loathsome as hearing that is to me. Music is subjective. To each his (or her) own.

My buddy is in a band and they start at 9, taking two breaks and quit at 1:30. I'm usually drunker than piss by that time.

Sets are usually an hour, then a 1/2 hour break, then another hour, then a break, etc.... at least that's what the bands at our club do.

In the Philippines, yes. He started at around 9:30 & got done at 3 in the morning. They had breaks in between tho & he didnt sing every single song.
