One of the best songs I've ever heard!

I know this is a Journey Forum, but with the lack of news (as well as non-stop bitching and bickering!), I thought you might enjoy a kick-ass song from my second favorite band! Enjoy...

That songs awesome! I really like Jeff. I met him about a year ago, and he was very personable, down-to-earth, and entertaining! I'm a huge Talisman fan, as well as Soul Sirkus and I can't wait for what's next!!! Thanks for sharing it,

Jim

JSS is the best!!

So back to your topic... What Toto would you recommend first for a novice such as myself?

I do know that this is a band of fine musicians so why they aren't in my collection I don't know!

"Falling in Between" and "Kingdom of Desire" are my favorite Toto albums, with "Mindfields" coming up right behind.

This is coming from someone closer to the progressive end of musical taste, so take that how you will.

I love "Toto IV" as well and would be quick to recommend that album to anyone. Funk, pop, soul, rock... it's pretty versatile.

Toto IV is the only Toto CD I have and it is truly a classic. When it won all those Grammys I went out and bought the album on faith - an excellent album!!!

Toto can be a bit too bland, I reckon...and I can't listen to any of their albums all the way through. But there's always at least one brilliant song so I'd start off with a Greatest Hits. My favourite album though has to be Isolation. Probably a bit dated now but at the time it was a surprisingly heavy album for Toto and the title track is one of the best ever AOR songs, I reckon. I think opinion was divided on the vocals - he was called Freeddie or Ferrgie Frederickson or something like that - and some people thought he was I bit high-pitched and annoying but I much prefered him to the characterless vocals of the other guys they've had.

Anyway...Progrocker53...I saw Porcupine Tree last week. It was such a great show...best band in Britain by a long way...

GI, thank you for linking this song. Never heard it and I'm a Toto fan (casual). I'm gonna check out this album.

The name in your post caught my attention, Matthew. Porcupine Tree. I went to the Uli Jon Roth show to see JSS, (the show was incredible by the way) anyway, a guy in line told me that I had to check out this band called Porcupine Tree. I had forgotten the name until just now! Thanks!

Just started listening to Tambu now. Toto's always been a tight group. Hope there's some rockers on this.
