Come on Dan, you have to admit Soto brought something new and unique to the table. They could have done a "Van Halen" with Soto fronting and moved on and forged ahead. Journey was exciting again. I'm sorry, but by going out and seeking a Perry clone, IMO they have just become a tribute band of themselves. I don't understand the concept of buying something that sounds "almost, but not quite" like the real deal when you can still buy the real deal. I came back and gave it a second chance (damn glad I did!) and was disappointed when they let Jeff go, so not going for the 3rd strike. Nothing against Arnel, he has a great voice, but like Augeri just does nothing for me. Call me shallow, but Arnel just doesn't have that passion/soul that a vocalist has to have in my books. Good post. I just can't imagine why anyone would want to continue to follow them just because they have the Journey name and sing the Journey songs. That makes about as much sense to me as going to see the Drifters just because they have the name and sing the songs even though all the original members are dead except one and he's too old to sing.
