My support left with JSS. I don't wish them ill, I hope they do well. I'm just not on board the Journey bandwagon any longer. Nothing will take away from the music that I've loved and the memories made, just don't see myself adding to the collection.

Let me add- the re-recording of the GH is asinine in my book. I don't care if they are trying to convince the public that Arnel is the second coming of Perry or whatever, the idea is ridiculous and it is an embarrassment to the Journey name and legacy.
Until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the palm of his hand.

I am still pissed about the bands lack of class and dealing with people as pawns. The new material must be phenomenal or I will not support this line up.

Did no one else notice that Arnel posted to the board?

I'll believe it when it's confirmed by Andrew.

Did you see what he said about you in the Welcome thread  ;)

you know fuck it let him take it for all it's worth ...that's all there going to do to him anyways...so Arnel grab as much as you can while you can ...there going to abuse you as much as they can ...so you might as well return the favor..

After much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that Journey is Journey no matter who is upfront.
If there is new music, which they claim, I will most definitely be intereted...
I would preview any new CD and if I like it, I will buy it...
I would certainly be interested in seeing them live, as they are the best at live performances..Neal is amazing to listen to.
Arnel does sound a lot like Steve Perry in the vid clips, but not quite the same, so he should be good at singing the back catalog...I sure do hope the new music is up to Journey standards. IMHO, we all need to see at least one concert before we make any decisions on how Arnel sounds or how he is on the stage.

However, I still do think the WAY JSS was let go was a crime...and I will follow Jeff's career and hopefully get to see him in concert again soon. He is one person that has talent and class all at the same time.. Can't say that about members of Journey or their management.
At least, THE VOICE, had it all.

The only journey I support is the one south of my belly button and between my thighs.

I hear the GH's CD was a requirement from the record company in order for the new CD to be done..apparently the band got the big bucks in advance if they went along with this deal.

Arnel sounds good to me, I'll give him a chance or 2 live and then make my final decission.

I can't understand why people can't let go of anger at the band for dismissing a singer. If this was 1978 and we had Internet way back then, I wonder if this anger would have continued like this. Would the haters trash Perry as much as they are trashing Pineda now? Would they make racist comments about him being Portuguese American rather than a WASP? Would they make fun of him for his height, weight, skinniness and big ass nose? For the way he talks in double negatives and bad grammar. Perry has proven his strength to overcome all those hateful critics back in the day saying he sounded like a battered seal and crap like that. I only hope Pineda will be able to establish himself as a great vocal talent.

Would the haters have been as loyal to Fleischman as JSS? Let's give the new line up a chance. It could be Perry revisited.

I wasn't showing any hate in that statement...I'm not upset that he was let go...that is their right..however, a phone call from management to say that it was not working out or even to say "you are fired" would have been correct, but not to hear it from another singer a continent away.
You didn't copy the rest of my message where I said I would support new music and the band if it was good--good in my opinion that is, not someone else's. AND, I have never bashed Perry...he is the best of all time.

Like I've said around many boards I will not buy the new CD but if they are the opener for someone good or I can see em real cheap and it's not out of my way I MAY I repeat MAY go to the show depending on the mood I'm in.

If JSS is in the area or Steves's Augeri or Perry too I'll choose them over the band anyday!!!!!

Um yeah, still pissed too. I'd rather spend my money to see Jeff or buy his CDs, thankyouverymuch. Good luck Arnel, watch your back and have a Plan B.

Imagine the uproar over Gregg leaving the band. Yes, I think if we had access to the info back then there would have been a HUGE dust-up in 1980...

I miss the simpler times!

Ah, but Gregg chose to leave and he suggested Cain to replace him (unless this is an untrue Journey legend).

Yeah, but the long-standing "rumor" is that he "chose" to leave because he didn't want to deal with Perry anymore...

There needs to be one more choice- "on the fence". I will buy a CD of new material, but at his point, can't see paying mucho dinero to hear the dirty dozen again.
This new CD better be a grand slam.

I still support them. I wish Augeri was coming back. But the band is still amazing musicians, and I like what I have heard so far from Arnel. So I will give them a chance.
