What's your favourite Perry high note?

Dude.........I totally agree. When my kids doubt that Perry was the greatest rock vocalist of all time..(ok, they don't really give a shit, but I shove it down their throats none the less).............................I pull up "After The Fall" on the IPOD. '

At about the 3:50 mark, Perry brings "After you fallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll" and it seems to last for several minutes. That, to me, is what Perry brought to the table. He was the Jim Brown/Wilt Chamberlain of singing. No one comes close.

Its funny how everyone is pissed JSS didn't get the gig.. But he could never hit any of those notes and if you say he can,you are completely bullshitting yourself..I have tons of respect for Jeff..But that isn't his range.. Arnel ,I think could very well do it..I would love to see him try..If he couldn't its ok,but he for sure is the only one I think has a shot of doing either Sweet and Simple or Something to hide..

It's never been about the high notes for me. I think they're stunning and fun to hear, but I much prefer Steve's voice from Frontiers on after it began to mature and develop a deeper resonance. That's why I liked Jeff's treatment of the songs. The notes came up from his soul like Perry's do.

I agree with your choice of era, though. The ATF and Liberty vocals are absolutely amazing. Resonant, too somehow. Like more sonic depth.

One note, though, I'm rolling with "Moon" in Troubled Child.

Homemade Love proves he was an incredibly talented freak of nature. Never heard a tribute band do that one. As for my favorite high note, probably Sweet and Simple. He was amazing. Too bad he can't do it anymore.
