1-journey-for me in my life and as far as what i listened to i think journey is first.plus in general i think they have sold the most albums and had the most overall influence of the groups mentioned.
2-styx-they are second for me as far as what i listened to overall plus in general they have sold a ton of records and their singles are featured regularly in movies.especially ones with adam sandler...
3-boston-i mainly listened to their first three albums.can't say there is really a bad song in the whole bunch.between 1976 and 1986 these guys ruled the airwaves and had quite a few radio hits.its sad that brad passed away because they still had good music left in them....
4-foreigner-i mainly listen to everyting from the first album through the 4 album with stuff like juke box hero and urgent.they have had great success in the 70's and 80's on the radio but from the 90's on they have had little impact but they are still a great band regardless of the health issues of some members.
5-reo speedwagon-i love stuff like roll with the changes and time for me to fly.also riding the storm out was a great one live.in the 80's they became known for their ballads which wasn't a bad thing but the more upbeat stuff was good too like don't let him go.they should have never let gary richrath go.the man is a hell of a guitar player.

mikemarrs wrote:its tragic when you have all five of these bands who have sold a combined half a billion records in the world and not one is in the rock and roll hall of fame.fucking madonna, beastie boys, afrikka bamboota, run dmc,lou reed, blondie and shit like that can get in but not one of the great five bands such as journey, boston, styx, foreigner or speedwagon?

1.Journey-Need anyone say more???
2. REO Speedwagon-THis is my list and I love the Wagon!!!!
3. Boston-Classic rock and a unique sound that is impossible to recreate.
4. STYX-Vocally DDY is a madman. And how can you overlook Tommy Shaws wondeful harmonic voice?
5. Foreigner- A legendary band and some of tbhe biggest hits in classic rock. Excellent song writers.
6. The Cars--I added this one because I LOVE these guys sound. When you hear a Cars tune you immediately recognize it even before the vocals start.
7. Survivor- Songs you sing along to when your alone and traveling at night.
8. The Outfield-OK, I know it was just 5 bands but I love these little poppy bastards. Their music is extremely feel good!
