Have to say, I'm not thinking Huckabee's the guy for the job. Not conservative enough for me, and some of his positions and comments he's made really turned me off. I think he's weak. I'm going to support Ron Paul.

I don't think anyone takes McCain seriously anymore, and his numbers are down. No way he wins the nomination. Ron Paul was reported today to have raised $20 mil, 50% more than expected... He has huge grass roots support. Don't know what's going to happen, but I'm sick of feeling like I'm voting for the lesser of two evils in elections, and this time, I ain't gonna do it. I'm so sick of politicians, it's not even funny.

Ron Paul's stance on illegal immigration:

McCain is up, big time. I dislike him, but he is the only one who can win, and that is still unlikely.

Guiliani is a joke- done
Thompson losing to Paul tomorrow
Romney is retarded
Huck is a good guy, just not well rehearsed. Sounds dumb as Hell on foreign policy, but then so does Romney.

Your best hope is Bloomberg.

Yeah, I was wrong on McCain -- I'd just read an article on him this morning, but it must have been older than I thought. Polls have him at either 2nd or 3rd place right now. Still hope he sinks... I don't trust him farther than I can throw him, but I feel that way about most of them.

It's a rough place to be -- to have to hold your nose while you pull the lever. Problem is we just end up without enough decent choice, and when it comes time to vote, I end up supporting the guy that will do the least amount of damage. I've never subscribed to that dumb argument, "Anyone is better than _________". I mean, anyone? Dangerous way to think. I like to make informed choices, but often don't like the conclusions I reach about either candidate.

This year is different, though. I'm not going to vote for someone I don't believe in. If great ills befall the country as a result, then they deserve what they get.

I need to clarify that last comment, becuase I'm afraid it gives the wrong impression. What I mean is, I often feel like I am voting against a candidate I can't stand rather than voting for one that I support. Oftentimes, if you want to ensure someone doesn't get in office (like John Kerry), you have to put your vote where it will do the most damage, instead of "throwing it away" on a 3rd party candidate that's sure to lose.

I'll admit, I supported Bush heavily in the last election, and also didn't want to see Kerry take it. Since then, I've been immeasurably disappointed in the Bush administration, and would never give them another chance if they had one coming. No way, no how. But this time is different... it all depends on the candidates, but I'm not going to use that same line of thinking anymore, and end up voting for the lesser of two evils. If there is a dark horse candidate that I like, or a 3rd party candidate, I will vote for who I believe in (if there is anyone), and screw the big pols. Just didn't want it to come off like I wasn't going to vote, because I believe it's a responsibility, and I'd never feel comfortable discussing the country's ills if I didn't vote. I'm just going to vote from my heart from now on instead of voting based on strategy. People need to get a message that we are being served up stinkers as leading candidates, and they won't get it if we keep voting for them. Their percentages need to sink...
