Journey - Live in Atlanta, GA - 11/18/86

Hey all, I just felt like in the sharing mood and thought I would pass this along. Its kind of a historical show for Journey, as this was the show that the video for "I'll be Alright Without You" was filmed. This is an audience recording, so you can hear how he tells the crowd what was going on and whatnot. Also featured in this show is IMO the best Perry-era performance of "Ask the Lonely". He doesn't really strain too hard on the notes on this version, he kinda tones them down a bit which, again IMO, makes it a better overall performance.

There is also some pretty detailed, though at times obnoxious, commentary supplied by the taper. He lets you know what they are doing onstage, sometimes what they are wearing if I remember correctly, and other details from the show. This dudes commentary is a testament to how amped up this crowd was. It seemed pretty damned insane!! Also, at the beginning of "Faithfully" it has an intro kind of like that from the Ohio shows.

Overall this is an average/beyond average audience recording. Unfortunately, on the second disc the first two tracks are really pretty muffled. As "Lights" being one of my all-time favorite songs, it kinda sucks, but the rest of the show makes up for it!!

I hope you all enjoy it!!

Big thanks bro.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Did you get permission to use that phrase? That's a Moon Beam trademark.

If all Canucks are as nice as you and Gerene, then Canada must be the best place on earth.

This is the next best thing to being there......

I just want to say that this concert got me more jazzed up than any other Journey boot or Steve Perry boot I have ever heard and to clarify, I have heard quite a few of them. There is no doubt that Journey was the hottest thing since sliced bread up until they quit in '86.

Thank you again, Loneman, for sharing this.
