I smoke Carltons ,the lightest cigs you can smoke, but theys cost the most, 6:50 a pack in Md.Good thing is when someone asks me for a cig,and I tell them what I smoke they usually say , "no thanks" It is fucking stupid how they tax smokers, then you see an asshole in a dump truck running people off the road with black smoke coming out his muffler

That's exactly why I quit smoking at work. Fuckin dickheads always bumming cigarettes. Well, that's one of the reasons, the other being that they make all smokers now go to these nasty areas to smoke.

Here the name brands are ten bucks a pack.
I have been smoking the native cigs that are 25 bucks a carton
for the last 2 years but the good ole government ain't getting
their cut from it so now they have started fining folks who have em.

Yep, you can definitely save some cash.....I quit smoking ..oh I don't know I've lost track..but pretty sure its been at least a year now....at one point I took the cash I saved from not smoking and rewarded myself with a vacation. I also enjoy my car, my house, myself not smelling like smoke anymore....so do my family and friends......I know very few people that smoke anymore. Not gonna tell anyone they should quit...as a former smoker I know that doesn't work...you will only quit when you are determined to do so within yourself..not because someone else tells ya to....all smokers know they should quit anyway. Yeah...it's a hard one, cause that nicotine has a powerful draw...but if you do want to quit don't give up trying.....it gets easier down the road and the benefits you get in how you feel physically as well as mentally, in your appearance... how you smell....in your health,...in your longevity, etc.....and the money you save....these things outweigh what cigs where doing for me. I'm glad I quit 'em.

I never could quite get the hang of smoking. Just ask Liam!

But I often wish I could get that stress relief feeling from it.

If I did that I would surely get caught and then they'd
take my kids away.

Blondie it's not so much the stress relief I find as it is
the addiction.
Your a smart lady for staying away from em.

Glad you quit Phyllis, good for you!
I've had quite a few folks in my life quit and I'm always
happy for em, especially my Hubby Bub.

Wow, Moonie, he quit and he's still around someone who
smokes? That's amazing. Good for him! I knew I liked him! :D

While we're on the topic of needing good thoughts, my Mom called today because she had to put my cat down. While I really don't believe in euthanizing anything, for him I gave her my blessing because it was more of a "pulling the plug" thing. His name is Tigger and he would've been 12 this summer. We've had him the whole time and he was pretty much my first pet (had a few dogs as a child but Mom would tire of caring for them since we lived on the road so much). I know it's silly to get attached to animals, but I am a MAJOR animal person. For the latter part of "growing up" I was on a farm with a minimum of 5-8 cats, 3-7 dogs, 14 horses, and a plethora of cows, chickens, guineas, you name it...

Anyhow. This is really more rough on my Mom than it was for me (since I tend to be emotionally distant when it comes to this stuff), but it still sucks that he's gone. Oh yeah, he was sick with various cancers that started as a tooth infection four years ago. He'd be good for a while and on death's door for a while, but there wasn't any saving him with my own selfish will this time. As of this morning Mom said he had lost complete function of his hips, and I won't get into anything more.

I loved the little furball... he was with me through so much. I'm a sentimental sap, I know.

Thanks for the good thoughts for Tony, y'all!

Rhi, I am so sorry about your kitty. I went thru that with one dog last year, and my other dog in '05. Just awful. I still get weepy about them now and again. I know the day will come with my cat, but I am living in denial about it right now, thankyouverymuch. Big hugs from me!

Yep, Michelle... I was in that denial the past four years. I get too close to the damn things! Lol... like Boo-Kitty's been around for about 7 years now and she used to pop kittens out like crazy until we finally could get her fixed. I found her living outside the local homeless shelter, someone had dropped her off and she was badly abused. Her lower lip was all rolled back and hanging down. So when she'd have kittens, she couldn't... um... you know, deliver and clean them off properly and some of them would die. I helped her with one litter, next thing I know, each time she's in labor she would hunt me down and let me know what was up so I could help her out. My Blue-Heeler dog, Sally did the same thing with one of her litters because one got caught in breech and I had to pull it out myself to keep her from dying!

Oh, I'm rambling again aren't I? :P

Dragging. But happy. The alarm went off at 1:00am and I texted Nicole to tell her I would be in at 3 b/c I needed another hour of sleep. The text I meant to send would've said: "I'll be a little late today, look for me around 3. Is that cool?" What I ended up texting was: "Ill be a little life today. Like 3 or so. Pool?"

I did!! But since I've been working this job I can tell you with certainty what sleep paralysis is like. Just last week I had dozed off and all of a sudden there were a bunch of people in my room jumping and stomping and laughing. I couldn't see them because no matter how hard I tried to open my eyes, they wouldn't open. I tried to move my arm but it wouldn't move. After arguing with myself over what the fuck was happening my eyes popped open and I sprang up out of bed to an empty, silent as a tomb, house.
