Postby mikemarrs » Tue Jan 22, 2008 4:22 pm

With STP reuniting its looking like Slash,Duff and writing partner and former gunner Izzy Plus another former member matt sorum might be looking for new things to do.scott weiland missed an important gig the other night and it looks like velvet revolver is history.in the last Axl has been seen in public with ex band members.

do you think Guns N Roses will ever reunite?

Only once Chinese Democracy has been released and become the biggest flop in rock music history - due out in 2012.

Then GNR will reunite for the last rock out before wheelchairs are wheeled in.

Depends on how long their finances hold out. They seem to hate each other, so the only reason to get back together would be money. Even then, how long will that last? If they do get together, better go see the first show of the tour. It could be the last.

van halen took from 1985 until 2007 to reunite with roth and that was without michael anthony.

i think it was in 1994 the last time these guys released a song which was a soundtrack releas for a cover of 'sympathy for the devil' then called it quits.

22 years it took van halen and its going on 14 years since guns n roses broke up....which is a guns n roses song.....IRONY indeed

lyrics by axl rose/izzy stradlin off of use your illusion

I try and feel the sunshine
You bring the rain
You try and hold me down
With your complaints
You cry and moan and complain
You whine an tear
Up to my neck in sorrow
The touch you bring
You just don't step inside to 14 years
So hard to keep my own head... that's what I say
You know...I've been the beggar...
I've played the thief
I was the dog...they all tried to beat

But it's been
14 years of silence
It's been
14 years of pain
It's been
14 years that are gone forever
And I'll never have again

Your stupid girlfriends tell you
That I'm to blame
Well they're all used-up has-beens
Out of the game
This time I'll have the last word
You hear what I say
I tried to see it your way
It won't work today
You just don't step inside to 14 years
So hard to keep my own head...that's what I say
You know...I've been the dealer...
Hangin' on your street
I was the dog...they all tried to beat

But it's been
14 years of silence
It's been
14 years of pain
It's been
14 years that are gone forever
And I'll never have again

Bullshit and contemplation
Gossip's their trade
If they knew half the real truth
What would they say
Well I'm past the point of concern
It's time to play
These last 4 years of madness
Sure put me straight
Don't get back 14 years
In just one day
So hard to keep my own head
Just go away
You know...just like a hooker she said
Nothin's for free
Oh I tried to see it your way
I tried to see it your way

Why is there no option to vote "no?"

Without it, this poll is pointless...

Not as long as Axl is in his disease. The other guys are having too much success outside of GNR to bother with the drama of dealing with Axl.

No chance. Axl may need the drug money, but Slash doesn't and he despises Axl. When those assholes didn't show up in Vancouver 3 years ago, and a riot ensued at GM Place, I was livid. How dare them ruin an hockey arena.

My guess is that they will try to reunite but there will so much fighting between Axl and everyone else that the tour will be a huge flop or they will put up with each other just long enough to do a tour and collect their money.

They did it in Philly, too.
No excuse for a crowd to riot, but ROSE is the culprit in my book. Loves that mystique all his crap caused when what he really needs is Slashe's guitar upside his skullpiece.

Why is Axl even bothering with this record, doesn't he know the people don't care about it anymore

That's what people said 5 years ago when he was selling out 20k arenas (without even showing UP) 9 years after their last show and with no music on the horizon.

He's created a mystique.

Slash was on Jimmy Kimmel the other night promoting his biography. The book was written sepfically to address the misinformation that Axl has allowed to spread over much of GnR's history. But Slash did not trash Axl at all. In fact, he maitains that he still "loves" the guy and they have great memories. But he totally alluded to that being all it ever will be.

Due to Slash's comments and general attitude about it, I find it more likely he will never work with Axl again than I would if he came out and torched Axl for everything in their past. Somehow the tone seemed much more "set in", it wasn't anger it was acceptance. When anger subsides you can often backtrack...not this. This is real.

the thing is slash, duff and matt are without a band now because scott is quitting to go back and reform stone temple pilots.here a few months ago they say scott got very mad because axl and some of the original gunners ran into each other at some nightclub and he got real jealous and pissed off mainly at slash.velvet revolver is over with so these guys will be looking for a new band..........

If they did do the $ thing, who would guarantee that Axl would be able to stand vertically for a couple hours? I think he can still scream songs.

i know led zeppelin, van halen and the police reuniting was something a lot of people thought would never happen and all happened in '07.everyone has a price and there have been stories of axl here lately selling some of his publishing and him having money issues with the record company.in other words the well is starting to run dry financially.i do think guns n roses will get back together.my hunch is it will be either this year or next.

Of course he is having financial issues...he has been working on one CD for over TEN YEARS NOW. The record label quit paying years ago so he has had to independently fund this thing. It's sad because he obviously has a passion for this CD, but that passion is not going to help recover his losses.

if i had a choice of two things.one is axl releasing this new CD he has been working on for 15 years or the second choice being him totally scrapping and never releasing the new CD but reuniting the original members of the band then i would go for the reunion choice.i'm simply not interested in what axl rose does solo without slash, duff and izzy.axl in guns n roses without the original guys is like a flat coke it simply is watered down and no good.i've heard the leaked songs that were bootlegged and they were pretty good but nothing up to the standards of the original band 1986-1994.

Yep, he also called local radio shortly after it was released. When asked about GNR, he basicaly said that Axl insisted on owning the name when the band first started. So, he also has the 'right' to hire and fire anybody in the band as he sees fit...and the power that Axl insisted on having caused major conflict in the band and is the reason they broke up. Slash made it sound like GNR was a good starting point for his career but he has no desire to return to that situation - where Axl controls everything. Unless Axl gives up his control over the name, I don't see why Slash would want to return for any kind of meaningful reunion....it's not like he can't start a new band where HE is in control and continue to be successful...and not have to put up with Axl controling everything and everbody.

Even more than when DDY got back with Styx..if DLR could get back with VH and it still is going ok..you just never know. Look at all the people who have gotten back together that we thought just would not ever work together again.
I actually don't give a crap about Axl though..and why want this except for to see him stage with Slash again. I never really thought the guy could sing anyway..and I just can't imagine he has taken any better care of his voice today..
There's a reason why some people can still sing so well today..and some even better than ever..one of the big reasons is they do not smoke and never did.
I never really understand the whole Axl appeal anyway.
