No matter what Journey contrives to try to make or take a buck ,if you add it all together it will never = 77-83 & 86 & 96. It is just silly and sad what they do to trash their history.

Don't think they care at this point as long as tix are being bought. Nothing will bring back the golden years (great Bowie song but I digress).

Riding out the concert circuit a few more years and then kaput. No retirement plans in the rock biz I guess.

I truly am absolutely stunned. I have made comments along the way talking about train wrecks and that kind of stuff, but I figured that in the end, they would redeem themselves once again, as they did with Augeri and JSS. But this is just nuts....I truly believe they HAVE lost their minds and this time I'm not being sarcastic. What in heavens name could they be thinking. It is just plain ludicris. All I can do is shake my head. :?: :?:

All this negativity, and yet so many of us are talking about Las Vegas.
So many said, 'never again', 'not another dime', 'they are dirt bags', 'done with the band', etc.
Yet, all we do is talk about these guys...and plan to spend more cash.

Now they've opened a new site, and talk about a new online endeavor.
And still, so much bashing.

Why do we care? And don't say we/you don't, because it's obvious. If not, then we'd simply go away and this forum would dry up.

Several months ago, some predicted that all the anger would eventually blow over with the mushy crap like 'it's all about the music', or 'regardless of what they've done, they're still great musicians'. Some even joked about how this forum was getting too touchy-feely like BT once was.

Looks like it all has happened...in many ways.

This forum is NOT like Back Talk. The fact that I can tell you to "fuck off" more than proves that. :P  There were basically 3 types of people a few months back. Those that were done, those that were on the fence and those that were "journeying" on. I have no issues with any of them. It's only the contingent that felt it necessary to mandate that their choice be taken by everyone that I had a problem with. If anything, trying to make everyone think the same way was indicative of Back Talk more so than continuing to follow a band because you love their music. I'll be seeing the "real" Journey March 8th in Las Vegas and I can't wait. 8)

I remember saying I'd see'em if they were near and the bashers came out of the woodwork! :D

But I'm realistic about this whole "legacy or history" bs. It's business pure and simple. Sell tix, play tunes, have a brewsky. Onto the next show.

On the other hand, if by some miracle, this next album is any good, then MR will be brimming with peeps that usually just lurk.

Yep, will have to be some miracle. I totally believe that like AP or not, the band (& Kevin Shirley) will do all they can to make this album as good as they can. And it probably will be quite good. However, the current state of the industry is such that it does not favor 'aging rockers'. So commercial success is doubtful. But should the miracle happen, then there will plenty of "I told you so" to go around. We'll see.

What the fuck is the "real Journey' SJ ? The real picture when you buy the "real ticket is with Steve A. but you will have a different singer {2 singers after Steve A.}This band is a joke, and anyone buying a ticket on ticketmaster will have no idea who is really singing for the band but you.Enjoy

The "real" Journey is the same one it's always been...the one that Neal Schon is the guitarist for. You can argue and debate whether they're still any good as that's a debatable topic. However, you can't argue whether or not they're the "real" Journey or not. The cold hard fact is that they simply are. That is really quite clear for non-delusional minds to see. Also, Perry was their 3rd singer and I'm sure there were people with the argument that they were a joke with him too. It's simply a matter of being able to move on from one incarnation to the next. Some people just can't do that. I could see not following them anymore as that's one's option. But to come to a JOURNEY message board for the sole purpose of bashing them tells me that some people simply have nothing better to do. If people truly weren't interested in them they would become indifferent. Coming here and photoshopping and bashing endlessly simply shows a degree of jealousy,a juvenile mind and an unwillingness to let the past go. Said people would be much better off at dr.phil.com than here. He deals with loon balls better than the Wombat.  8)

The real picture when you buy the "real ticket is with Steve A.

Are you saying that when I get to the concert that the program and the posters will only show pictures of lead singers named Steve?

I call Bullshit on that and when I post those pics...I'll await to see what you'll say then. Will we get witty repartee or lame pre-school gibberish?

My main problem with Journey is they are selling tickets on Ticketmaster with a picture that is three years old. Defend that. Dr Phil would say you are living in the past. Put the real picture of Arnel on the ticketmaster website, until I see that, this band and anyone who goes along with the lie is a joke
