Hey pal, why are you not releasing a new album? I know you are reading this, so answering the thread will never happen. But, it would nice to see something new... just a thought ;) time flies, and before you know it... it's too late

Of course not, that's why I'm addressing this to Steve Perry.

Thank you.

Wow...what an ORIGINAL thought/idea!

Never thought about that one before...but, you know...you're RIGHT! SP hasn't released any music for awhile now!

How did that go unnoticed around here?

BJG, I thought Vladan's post is sincere and a fair request coming from a true Perry fan, just not as funny as your sex analogy request  . It is certainly a whole lot more respectful than calling his voice toast and saying he can't sing past 5 songs (with no substantiation whatsoever) from other posters in the last few days.

Seems to me like he doesn't want to sing past one song. And I have almost 12 years of evidence on my side.

If it walks like a duck, and sings like a duck...

The evidence is quite powerful, per Saint John......

This has nothing to do with not being "respectful."

Nice. My eye-rolling was because it's the same old, same old, more complaints and unhappiness that Perry isn't doing what others want him to do. As SJ and LJ said, it's pretty clear where Perry's intent lies - or more fitting - does not lie - these days. He's obviously content with it. And he's not the one with the problem about it.

Annie, for the record the sex analogy was not about requesting him to do anything, it was to be funny. I think that was pretty clear. And it wasn't it's own thread either. Nor did I suggest the original post wasn't sincere. But over and over again with this.... it's been threaded 1000s of times already. Then again, maybe I'm in the mirority, being content with what he's already done and leaving it go at that?

Would I like to see it as much as anyone else... sure...
...but it's alright with me if he never sings outside the shower again. It's his life.

Look, Steve sings all the time in the Kitchen of his Pizza Parlor, he is rolling the dough as he belts out some of the wide range of hits. I just got back from hanging with him in his Pizza Joint.
He has no plans on touring again and probably never.

Sure he can still sing, but he is also a perfectionist and could never please himself on his own expectations just due to mother nature and time. Thus, end of story.

Watch the guy throw pepperoni on a pizza like handing out a deck of cards or watching him grade cheese without blinking an eye is a sight to behold.
The guy is truly an amazing human being, believe me we have discussed all these scenarios many times while eating at our favorite lunch time joint Del Taco. Only problem with hanging with Steve is we are both perfectionists and suffer from OCD, SO when we left the Pizza Joint and locked up, we both got in the car and out of the car five times each to make sure the lights were off and the door was locked

Wow Wix, is that true? I envy you so much. You are always doing something fun. So you say he throws pepperoni like dealing a deck of cards? That is beyond cool. But the fun part, at least to me, would be watching him grade the cheese. Does he use a red pencil? Does he grade on the curve? Does he put a little gold star right in the middle of it's forehead?

Not a problem, I understand. And like yourself I have been around the scene for a while as well, I didn't mean any harm by posting this, it's a forum, people need to be nicer to folk these days - this is a band that plays love songs, where is the love? sure I know I was rude right back you both, so it's not helping. Thanks for the reply bluejeangirl76 :)

Perry sings 'happy songs' ...all the way...to the bank, every day.
All the forums, sites - bashers & tribute, various internet chatter, constant radio play, and a touring band to support him, is the evidence.
Whether or not he sings in person today has no affect whatsoever on the fact that he IS singing constantly every day.
He's got the best poker hand in the business. He's 'all in' constantly...and wins.
Financially, and personally, he has to do nothing at all.
Wouldn't we all love to be in his position?!

It is only natural to want to hear and see him perform live again. No one is trying to MAKE him do anything by simply posting that they would like to hear something new from him. I wouldn't be surprised if he looks at these forums sometimes when he's bored just to see what his fans are saying about him.............. Anyway, I still admire him and would love to hook up with him sometime. Be nice. Life is too short to always go around trying to put someone down.

I agree, the constant debate over the years about his singing voice and why won't he sing again wears thin. Many people are sick of it.

But there is a difference between "can't" and "wanting to". Instead of listening to the speculators, I choose to believe Cyndy and UJB, who were actually with SP in the studio a couple of years back, and they say he still sounds good.
