That's one of the problems I have with that song. The biggest problem in fact.

If this wasn't you, I wouldn't do this.
But since it is you, and you're the biggest GEEK about minutia like spelling and bullshit like that I must point out that Nothing At All was off the self-titled '85 album (Nancy on vox, too sounding awesome).

The only thing I want to hear from Heart's old period are Straight On and Even It Up.

Other than those, I'll take the great shit off Heart, Bad Animals (Never, Alone, Who Will You Run To?, Nothing At All, These Dreams, There's The Girl) and through Black On Black II and Back To Avalon

And I'm sure you know who the guitarist on Nothin' At All was?!

That's right. Frankie sullivan. :)

Oooo...I do believe it was ANN who sang NOTHING AT ALL

I believe that Ann was the singer on Nothin' At All. Nancy was the singer on These Dreams.

I didn't have MTV at that time, so I've never seen the video. But I always hated the message behind that song.

Did Mick Jones of Foreigner really write that song???

If so I'm sad to hear that because Mick is one of my favorite songwriters.

No, Mutt Lange wrote it. But in his defense I remember he had written it from a man's point of view. Heart purchased it and changed the lyrics to fit the woman's view.

These 11 tunes were all rock radio hits from the 70's and 80's. These are NOT obscure album cuts from their early days, these are recognizable radio friendly tunes.
They also add half a dozen songs from their most recent album. Obviously, those tunes aren't nearly as familiar to most, but it is their latest album and they are trying to promote it (something people have been complaining that Journey has NOT been doing). The Zeppelin covers is something that Heart has ALWAYS done. Like it or not, Led Zep is one of their biggest influences and they like to pay homage. Besides, they are one of the very few artists out there who can actually do those songs justice.

The mid to late 80's Heart tunes are NOT the songs that made the band who they are. In fact they alienated many of their die-hard fans with their output during that period. They do still play a couple songs from those albums, so they are not ignoring them.

Heart's crowd is the classic rock crowd. How often do you hear "Never" or "All I Wanna Do..." on classic rock radio? The tunes that have stood the test of time with their major audience are the ones that they are indeed performing.

Oh, no arguement at all - BUT - all my poitn is - how about a little balance? Believe me when I say I get e-mails about their set list complianing about lack of 80s hits and the Led Zep obsession...BALANCE is all that is needed!

Andrew, I agree with you about balance, but in order to achieve said balance, they need time, nore time for their set. Going out with Journey wil only take time away. Either they should have went with Journey or headlined with CT...not all 3.

More lack of balance...Many of their recent shows have also featured versions of PinkFloyd's "Goodbye Blue Sky"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZwayNMSomY (studio version with "The Wall backdrop)

and The Who's "Love, Reign O'er Me"

Yes, she was. Nancy sang on "These Dreams", "Will You Be There In The Morning" and "There's The Girl" to name some of the very few she sang on. I wish she would sing more, I like her voice just a much as Ann's.

Cool clip, Roy.

Howard's been gone from the band so long that it's nice to see once again just how much he contributed back in the day. I'm lucky to get to see him play often nowadays with PR's band...

I kinda agree. It was because of their 80's stuff that I went back and listened to the older stuff. They've said they were pissed at being manipulated in the 80's and forced to do material they probably wouldn't have done. I believe without those 80's hits, they'd probably not have careers now, so they should at least be thankful for that.

I love THE NIGHT and BAD ANIMALS and one of the most awesome songs ever is WAIT FOR AN ANSWER.

Yep, Heart, bring back some of the 80's stuff.

One of their late model songs I DID like was STRANDED, which Nancy sang.
But it, as well, was a cover. (Ashley Cleaveland, a Nashville songwriter, I believe)

[quote="The Sushi Hunter"] Without You . . . since no one's really done a remake of that tune since Mariah.

Well, not unless you count Clay Aiken http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eXHx7jsGt4
and Il Divo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGhxjV-jqw

I still like the original Badfinger version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGhxjV-jqw best. I would love to hear Arnel sing this song.

Straight On
Love Alive
Bebe Le Strange
You Wreck Me
Dog & Butterfly
Dreams
Alone
Reign Ov'r Me
Barracuda

I didn't know anyone in the last few years or so had did this tune. Last I recall was Mariah. The one that Arnel used to do was Heart's version. The youtube link I provided shows Heart doing it live, but the studio version is much better, it can be found on Heart's Magazine album, released in 78." If you get the chance, it's worth listening to. When Arnel would do this song, Heart's Version, the entire club was completely in awe! I would like to see him do it again and just as good. I think if he can do it just as good as he did before, he'll get lots of attention with it. Who knows though, maybe I got it all wrong and it won't be one on their set list or cd. Just have to wait and see.

But if Journey does this tune with Arnel fronting, it will sound much like Air Supply's version below. Only problem with this youtube vid is it's the live video dubbed to the cd track.

Why did Howard leave Heart anyway? Did he just want a solo career or did they leave on bad terms?

Gotta say, Barracuda and a few others excluded the 'big' albums of the 80's are where im at with Heart.

But whatever they play you gotta say... One hell of a voice!!! Got all the bases ticked with that one..
