Yoko Ono is, in a sense, one of my favorite people. Her treachery ridded the world of that awful elevator music known as The Beatles. She was able to take John Lennon and turn him into a brain dead, meandering, comatose weirdo...sort of Terry Schiavo with a guitar. And what a plan she had, too. Convincing that fool that money and "possessions" were meaningless. They sure became important to her after he died, though. I really like this quote about her:

"Yoko Ono is walking, living, breathing proof of the historically unprecedented magnanimity the United States has shown to citizens of the nations we vanquish after they declare war on us."

Few things here, I think it was more all the drugs and not as much Yoko. Yoko was pretty much just going along with and supporting Lennon's ideals and agenda. And I do cringe when I ever hear Yoko try and sing. It's friggin horrible!

Note: Fast forward on this vid to 2:12 and 3:34 minutes for the full effect. It's like karaoke with a retard.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TiDNrsTv7c

Yoko is a friggin wacko though, Lennon must have picked her out of a mental ward or something, plus all the heavy drug use and her involvement with Lennon just made a bad situation worse. But I think the real shithead of them all is the recent ex-wife of Paul McCartney. God that bitch wants like 400K for every day that they were married. What a bitch and she's got a fake leg. If I was Paul, I'd shove that wooden leg up the bitch's ass.

Sad that Linda passed away, she was really a good woman and Paul was a good man to her as well.

Donnnnnn't even start me up on that one. She needs to take whatever MORE than generous settlement he last offered her and STFU pronto. She's a friggin' gold digger and a liar. For someone who is so into helping charities, she sure is a GREEDY summamabitch.

I saw Lennon supporting Heart a couple of years ago. She puts her heart and soul into her performance and has some great tunes. It's a shame that a bona fide original rock act is being harrassed for the sake of a 'name'. As far as I'm aware, Lennon has never attempted to promote any kind of connection to John Lennon and she certainly sounds nothing like him. Even if he were still alive and recording today I doubt that he personally would have any issue with her using her own name. Yoko's lawsuit is just a bitter and twisted action by a sad old woman.

Yoko obviously has way too much time on her hands.
Maybe it's time she did something useful.
Maybe she could go into business with Heather Mills.:)

They could open a coffee house and Heather could do the catering and Yoko could provide the entertainment by staging some 'happenings' or whatever it was she did before she latched onto John Lennon.

Just seen on UK television that Yoko has denied trying to stop Murphy from using her own name.

She says she doesn't want to stop her doing that, but she does want to prevent her from gaining exclusive rights to use name Lennon as a trademark.

This depends on how she wants to use it. If she wants to trademark it to secure her band identity, which is what I assume - as in - no other band can record/tour under the name "Lennon" - then why not? She got there first. I'm sure "Journey" is trademarked as far as the musical industry... or "Coldplay" or "Maroon 5"... or insert band name here. John Lennon didn't use the name "Lennon" as an identity. He recorded under The Beatles where he is credited as "John Lennon"... and on his own he was not known as "Lennon" either, it's just his surname.

I refer back to the Jeff Beck / Beck example. This girl isn't doing anything to give anyone the impression she had anything to do with John Lennon. She's doing what a lot of musicians do, giving her name to her band. It's not her fault that other people have or have had that name.

If I wanted to start a band tomorrow and call it "Perry" I have every right to do so as long as there is no current trademark held and there's not a damn thing Steve Perry from Journey, Steve Perry from CPD, William Refrigerator Perry, Matthew Perry, or the city of Perry Illinois can do to stop me. And I seriously doubt any of them would even bother because they are probably 100 times more reasonable as people than Psycho Ono and realize they aren't the only ones in the world with that name.

When I get famous I'm gonna trademark my name and wait for Lil' Kim or Kim Basinger to try and sue me.

Yoko Ono is one of those rare female assholes. No other way to put it.

She was a talentless hack - a lousy writer, terrible musician, and an even worse "artist". What Lennon saw in her, only he knew.

But she is a crappy person, too.

antiMusic) Yoko One has reportedly responded to the press release sent out this week by Lennon Murphy, claiming that the Beatle widow is suing over the use of the name "Lennon". She apparently tried to register to respond to our article, but didn't complete the registration. However, she seems to have had better luck responding to Boing Boing's article. The site has posted a statement reportedly sent by Ono where she denies Lennon's claims. So we'll pass on her side of the story courtesy of Boing Boing.
The statement reads: A musician named Lennon Murphy is claiming that Yoko Ono has sued her and that Yoko is seeking to stop Lennon Murphy from performing under her name, Lennon Murphy. Both of these claims are untrue.

Several years ago, Lennon Murphy sought Yoko's permission to do her performances under her name, Lennon Murphy. Yoko, of course, did not object to her request. Subsequently, without Yoko's knowledge, Lennon Murphy filed an application in the United States trademark Office requesting the exclusive right to utilize the name "Lennon" for musical performances. Yoko's attorneys asked Lennon Murphy's attorneys and manager to withdraw her registration of exclusivity to the name LENNON for the trademark. Yoko also offered to cover all costs Lennon Murphy had incurred in filing for the trademark. But Lennon Murphy went ahead to register.

Yoko did not sue Lennon Murphy, but sought to stop her from getting the exclusive right to the name Lennon for performance purposes. For that, Yoko's attorneys, simply notified the Trademark office that Yoko did not believe it was fair that Ms. Murphy be granted the exclusive right to the "Lennon" trademark in relation to musical and entertainment services. As you can see, this is a very important issue for Yoko and the Lennon family.

Yoko says: "I am really hurt if people thought that I told a young artist to not use her own name in her performances and had sought to sue her. I did no such thing. I hope this allegation will be cleared."

I don't see why she shouldn't be allowed to use the name for performance purposes. Now the paragraph where I bolded says she sought to stop her from using it for her performances, but Yoko's quote says she did not tell the girl not to use her own name in her performances. It says she contacted the trademark offices to complain about it, so therefore yes, she is saying she does not want the girl to use her own name for her performances. If she's going to hide behind semantics and claim "I just don't want her to have the "exclusive" right"... then fine. I still think its wrong of her.

What the hell is the problem? Its not as if A) John Lennon was EVER known by just "Lennon" OR that B) anyone is going to confuse the situation. John Lennon is not here. If anyone is mislead by this girl calling her band Lennon, then they are too stupid to be allowed out of their homes and should not be attending the show in the first place.

I wonder if the exclusivity would have made it impossible for Julian or Sean Lennon to use their names? Or any other Lennon, for that matter.
