Rick, you wear your heart on your sleeve. It shows, brother.

Rip has the look of the devil in his eyes.

I gotta party with all of you someday.

Looks like Ed is going to be at the Frontiers show tonight...it's my first time out since August. Should be interesting.

I haven't been arrested since the drunken UConn student riot started in my quad in '90. I wish I could take credit for it, but I was ("was") a loser and was in the library all night...came back home and the campus cops were breaking skulls. Apparently the party my roommates threw was the catalyst of the riot, so I got hauled downtown, and it took me six hours to establish I had nothing to do with it.

Ah, the good old days.

Very late here -- almost 3am, and the people in the next room are either having loud sex or watching a porno. I'll make it short...

1) Great time with Gayle, Jen, and Rick and Mrs. Rick. The highlight of the trip!

2) We estimated between 1,200 and 1,500 at the venue -- it was PACKED!

3) Don was great, sounded great, and was funny. Unfortunately, he bailed right after the show and we were unable to meet him. I did get to hang with Kelly Keeling, Don's guitarist, for a bit and that was a kick -- he was SCHNOKKERED! :P

4) Queensryche was OUSTANDING. Geoff Tate had been pumping iron again, and his arms were huge. So was his voice. He was back to the creepy Geoff Tate that everyone knows and loves. I should do a "Geoff Tate Facts"... he deserves one!

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed the show. I'm surprised Don wasnt around after the show, he was quite accessible here in Orlando.

Geoff is one of hell of a vocalist and performer. Stick around in the FC we can meet for a show or two on the next tour. :)

I was told that by someone in the know that "Don was in a really bad mood that day." Oh, the drama! Ya know, his website advertises that he will sign his solo CD for anyone that buys it... thanks, Don! $20 for a disc that looks to have been produced on CD-R media... but... I listened to the first 2 tracks on the way back from a 2am Taco Bell run, and they are incredibly beautiful! Can't wait to hear the rest of it today...

Hey, yes, Ang... Let's definitely try a QR show next year. I waited out with a few fans in the freezing cold last night by the tour bus, and finally, Geoff Tate walked right past us into the bus, never to be seen again. He had on a camel-colored trench coat, a cabbie-hat (or whatever you call those flat little things -- maybe it was a beret even), and these little square, orange-colored specticles... :P Geoff Tate is a complete enigma.

1. Oh, yeah! It really made the trip worthwhile.

2. Yes, The Palladium is a ballroom, but it was packed... The sound there is outstanding.

3. LOL! Kelly was a trip!!! Very cool guy! Now imagine he and I singing a Dokken song that he wrote together and discussing the lyrics... I did get a pic of Kelly, my friend and I together, but it may have turned out very dark. I need to learn to use that camera in a dark room.... manuals were written for a reason, ya know?

4. Geoff sounded OUTSTANDING. We were debating how much the heavy pre-recorded backing vocals were helping him out, but what I heard coming thru the mic was very, very good -- better than some of the live DVD's I've seen. He's a total enigma, and he knows it... he was a tour de force. I can't remember the exact track list, but they played several older songs, including from Rage For Order ("Gonna Get Close To You" was one of them), Mindcrime 1 and II, Empire and Promised Land. He also sang "The Bridge" that last album. The show was GREAT, and the sound was outstanding. I'll be going to another show next year for sure. Oh, by the way, right before they started they announced that they would be again doing the Mindcrime 1 & II suite with full stage show and actors again soon! THAT will be the show for me to see!

I'd run across this a few years back, and never imagined that I'd be asking him about it in person. I should have asked him to sign my CD covers, but didn't want to do that right there. By the way, "Schnokkered" doesn't have anything to do with alcohol. It is: adj. "the state of being intoxicated by the presence of Don Dokken." (Webster's)

Also, I read on another board that Don had gotten sick the night before and was rushed offstage right after they finished, so maybe he was still not feeling well. I do have some advice for him, though... quit smoking and drinking during (or outside of) your show if you are sick, dude!

I forgot to mention, we saw a really nasty pileup on the freeway on the way back from the venue -- it took up two sides of the street. There was one vehicle whose front end was wedged underneath the tail of the car in front. That's what the paparazzi gets for tailing Don Dokken too close! There ought to be a law...

Sounds like you had a great time.

Hopefully Don will see a Dokktor so he can keep Rokken! He does need to quit the Smokken.

I appreciate all this, but I need to tread carefully, as The Wombat's been lokken a few threads lately... :P I'm trying to be good. I do, though, predict that chaos will ensue here on April 11th when Andrew gets completely schnokkered by "Lightning Strikes Again", and is unable to police things for a few days. He's flat-out going to get knokked on his butt by this disc!

I saw that show in 2006 (I think) with OMI & II with the actors.. it was simply amazing! I love all the songs on OMI, OMII takes some getting used to for me.
But if you get someone to pay for your trip, make sure you ask for two tickets so I can go. :P
