Frontiers 25th Anniversary

Postby Paloofer » Wed Feb 20, 2008 2:55 am

I was headed from Detroit to Windsor (Ontario) on Saturday night around 11:15-11:30 p.m when I turned on the radio to catch the end of "Chain Reaction." While the Motor City has always showed Journey some major love, hearing "CR" is still pretty unusual. The next thing I hear is a major old time radio voice guy talking about Frontier's 25th Anniversary. Then cut to 80's voiced Jonathan Cain talking about the tour with the Baby's, not realizing that Journey was keeping an eye on him.... more from the radio guy, then "After the Fall," with Neal talking about his writing with Jon and them practically being brothers, then Steve talking about collaboration with Jon, Jon talking about being a "utility" player - ready and able to step in where/when needed, etc.
Then I headed into the tunnel and the long line at customs - did not catch the end of the show and I am not even sure which station I was listening to. The show seemed to be the old King Biscuit Flour Hour set-up.....dj intro/set-up, interview clip, dj, album cut, rinse, repeat.
Thriller has received a lot of 25th anniversary press, so I was glad to hear Journey's contribution being recognized. I am just afraid that I was the only person to hear about it. (Bueller?)
Anyway, thought I should share the info - suggest everyone keep an ear open, just in case. Sorry, in advance, if this is old news and I was the last one to hear about it!

I think there was a thread started about it last week. Frontiers 25th Anniv. on a syndicated radio show. In the studio with Red Beard. Announcer talks and plays tracks of whatever album is featured and recycles bits of interviews here and there from various bandmembers.

I have audio cd's of the Infinity and Escape retrospectives from this same radio show (aired in 1996, I believe). Would love to add this Frontiers show to my collection. Trade, anyone?
