Btw, did they ever win a grammy when Steve was in the band?

Nominated for "When You Love A Woman" but didn't win.

It was bad timing, bad luck, whatever you wanna call it...Of all years,THAT had to be the year when that old dusty Beatles "birdie" song surfaced and took the trophy.WYLAW was SO much better.

Actually what was said was 'were aiming for the grannys'.

They were talking about the type of crowds they were hoping to bring in.

Journey was always a band that pulled in the babes!!!

Since a month has gone by since this article, I assume (hope) THAT has changed!?!

Neal has probably figured that contracts are like divorces, they cost money to get out of. This way he doesn't have to make a call and dump arnel, he will just post it in the journey forum. Neal is in the drivers seat on this one, arnel will be paid the least and will get dumped at a seconds notice. Kinda like the cow/milk theory.
When in doubt, DUCK!

“There will still be power ballads, plus upbeat tracks,” said Pineda. “We’re aiming for a Grammy.”

Jesus Christ....what a warped fucking sense of reality this band has!! Who the fuck is going to give this cluster fuck a grammy. The last time they were even given a nod was when they had the real singer in place. Does anyone in their right mind think that the powers that be will grant Journey another nod because they now have a singer shorter than the guitarist?

Who the fuck dreams this idiocy up?

Sorry- hokey at best- this was good but not grammy worthy.... Mother, Father, sister brother....now THAT is grammy material!

I agree that Mother, Father is grammy material. Incredible song. But the very first time I listened to WYLAW, I knew it would be a hit. It kind of struck me as a rip off of the Bryan Adams song lyrically though.

I love the Beatles but I really hated that song.
The idea that the Beatles could release a tune with Lennon in 1996 is what won that award.
The song itself actually sucked.
