Hi, it's me again.

Like I told, last night I went to the show here in Santiago, and it was awesome, simply spectacular. The only thing I was dissapointed was that they only played for 1 hr and 20 minutes. Too short for such a huge band.

But, talking about the show, all I can say is that again all the people (about 15.000) were surprised by Arnels voice and performance. Neal Schon presents him as the "new vocalist of the new millenium" and he did a terrific show. He sounded better than the first show in Viña del mar, and the sound of the band was strong, pure rock.

The other one that was superb was MR Deen Castronovo. What a terrific drummer. His performance was absolutly AMAZING. No one can believe all his movements and the way he played. Theres no doubt about he is one of the best drummers in the world.

They played all the classics, starting with "Any way you want it", and the rest (not in order) were "Don't stop believin", "stone in love", "wheel in the sky" "open arms", "faithfully", "send her my love", "chain reaction", "be good to yourself", "only the young", "lights", "separate ways", "ask the lonely", "who's crying now" and I was surprised when they included "edge of the blade"(I think that they haven`t been playing that in a long time). As you can see, the show was perfect but, again, TOO SHORT. I missed gems like "lovin, touchin, squeezin", "i'll be alright without you" "girl can help it" or "mother/father", but everybody in the stadium were happy and I can say again THANKS JOURNEY FOR COMING DOWN HERE, AND I HOPE YOU CAN VISIT US AGAIN AND MAKE A NEW CONCERT ALONE, SO IT CAN BE MORE LONGER.

No, it's not.
But as history w/this band has shown, aka The Augeri Era, you'll be
lucky to hear 1-2 new songs if any...

that's because if there was actually a demand for new songs then they would play them, but there isn't so they dont

Thus the reason the band has pissed off a lot of longtime fans.
There COULD be a demand for new music if the band and management
would put effort into getting new stuff out to the masses.
Where's the push to get airplay on FM?
What about getting a video or 2 out there on VH1?
What about doing some heavy promotion?
Azoff supposedly has a lot of pull in the biz; when's
he gonna use it for this band?

That's what the problem is now.
We "thought" we would see that kind of committment
when everyone in the Journey Camp was talking about
what the future held w/Jeff and about all the "new energy" he brought to the table.

Turns out they were blowing smoke up our asses, realized they could be lazy, literally
ride Perry's famous tux-tails into the sunset and live off the past without
breaking a sweat...

"Demand" for music in today's entertaiment circus is usually self-generated
via strong management/label/sponsor support. 90% of the popular music
out there today is popular because it has been force-fed to us and marketed properly.
Look at bands like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and The Eagles over the years.
Even though they are all still touring w/original frontmen, Journey could've
remained "popular" and "viable" had they and management did things differently
over the years. Sad thing is, their chances, if they did choose to try, have probably
passed them by...

I couldn't agree more. It's one thing to play "the hits" but this band has been living off "the dirty dozen" since Perry was out. Perry certainly deserves to be the 6th member financially, because these guys have not had the balls to prove that they can make a living off any of their songs without him! I am so sick and tired of them not taking any chances, that it makes me not even want to see them, if it weren't for the curiousity of a new singer actually living up to Perry in performance, etc. Mark my words- this band will continue the "Nostalgia Tour" and do well but they will NEVER pull of a Van Hagar. The balls just aren't there.

I agree with you Carl. But I'm afraid the net effect with Arnel will be the same as the result they would have had with Jeff. Playing 2 or 3 new songs, which will become 1 or 2 after droves head for beer or the toilets. Which will then become 0-1 by the end of the tour. The only possible difference I could see would be that Jeff would put up a tougher fight to keep the new stuff in, but Neal and Cain would pull out Augeri's scalp in the end and the new stuff would be shelved. :D

At the shows I were at, there wasn't really a mass exodus for the beer line during the less well known songs.

Also, weren't lesser-known songs played regularly during the 2005 tour and a couple tours before that? The JSS tour had Rubicon, Mystery Mountain, random Departure songs, Winds of March, Opened the Door too.

The band doesn't ALWAYS do just the Dirty Dozen.
