Then...and..... Now

...apples, oranges, grapes...they are all good for you. It's a matter of taste and comparison, and most of all, what is currently being served. :)
Let's just be glad the music goes on and on and on...take what you like from it, leave the rest, and most of all...stop the bickering about it!

Thank you, Anne, for bringing this to our Board.

I appreciate how this video-montage was done....I DO admit that I get "Blinders On" regarding this particular group's Lead Singer (see Av below  8) ), but this clip really allows the viewer to sit and LISTEN to the comparisons.

For me, the bottom line is this:

Based on what I just heard, Arnel Pineda is the man for this job:

He has a "stronger foundation" within his voice that gives it power and sustain to perform within what a lot of Professionals call THE MOST DIFFICUT MALE VOCAL RANGE to master - the Tenor Voice.

I am very interested in hearing what he brings to new Journey Material.

Instigation post, who's bickering?

This is interesting, I'll quote from the video: "Three artists as lead vocals on one legendary band, Journey. Watch 'em sing the hit song, Faithfully... enjoy! " you forgot to put , 2 no name singers - one legendary singer. Thats the major difference, and problem Journey are facing today, hence that is why they will struggle to have a hit again, it won't happen unless Perry comes back. Nobody in their right mind will give these guys an award or a Grammy without Steve Perry at the helm, your dreaming. Let's give them a grammy for paying tribute to Steve Perry's vocals, yeah that's it!.

OK, do you know what the major problem is about that video? for one its outrageous to even consider putting anyone other singer, such as Arnel, or Augeri with the likes of Perry in the same video to sell some kind of propaganda. Actually watching it, really shows how much better Steve Perry is in fact. It has nothing to do with taste, the fact of the matter is when Steve Perry was with Journey it was a better band, end of story. Regardless who I prefer, it doesn't change the history books or facts. I enjoy Arnel Pineda paying tribute to Steve Perry, but Perry is a far greater vocalist and musician - that's undisputed. I find that video insulting and retarded. Journey-on, by all means, but this video is just as bad as when Steve Augeri came on the scene. Journey tried very hard to create an album that would sell to the masses "Arrival" good album, however Steve Augeri was branded a clone from the get go, that ruined their chances, and it appears the media has done the same thing again with Arnel Pineda, so... I think you know what the outcome is.

This garbage is about as bad when Bruce Lee passed away - all those crazy clones. People were saying "this is the new Bruce Lee". Same thing applies here, Journey is touring and paying tribute to the classic sound, take a listen - clone singing at its finest, and for a reason, as Journey don't deny it.

Bullshit video.

How can you NOT have Jeff in there, or Deen?

Without Jeff, Journey is dead right now. he saved them, literally, and if not for Deen they were also dead. Hell, Deen saved Augeri night after bight on their 30th tour. Come on now!?

Nah wouldn't be any fun. We like fightin :D |Plus, If there wasnt this controversy someone would find something. If Perry were still in charge constantly, we'd have Fleishmann Freaks moaning or Rollie Rowdies sayin "it just aint the same wiht Greg ya know"

On with the bickering!
