Basically, yeah it is. Dipshit, I contribute, you don't.

And you've come to this conclusion after 2 shows worth of poor-quality Youtube clips?
You can't be serious...
I'm giving this guy a chance, waiting for 15-20 shows.
But you are definitely off your rocker on this one

First of all, I yanked that quote from my post as it seemed a bit harsh- And I knew people would flip out...

quote]

Wow...some really stupid and outright ignorant comments being placed on these pages.
A couple of shows in, and you idiots can make a true determination based on fn lousy you tube or cr@ppy audio/video via Chile that he's a 1/4 of the singer Perry was or better than Perry?! Give the guy a chance you morons. Turn that overly critical attitude toward your own sad lives.
Our country really is filled with a bunch of half wits! No wonder 3/4 of the world hates us/USA.
You guys ALL suck plain and simple.

Methaddict- aptly named no doubt. I actually have a broadcast quality dvd of their first show not youtube videos. Said he was better than Perry on the 86 tour as far as his voice being in shape. He's hitting notes Perry never hit during that tour. Our country is filled with half wits, yeah, I agree with ya there, but otherwise, you seem like quite the douche bag. Welcome.

Whoa, I just realized methadict was, in his own way, supporting Arnel. Still, kind of a douche baggie way to say hello.

Haha, sounds like something Matthew would be into. I've gotta pass.

Now if it were Gregg Rolie, it'd be a whole different story. His organ solos make me give myself organ solos.

I have a point. Before the Viña del Mar show, Journey had a show in La Serena, ok? the show was cancelled (without a convincing motive), the tickets to the concert in Santiago were selling with alarming slowness, the tickets to the concert of the Casino de Viña too, then Journey play in Viña del Mar for an amazing crowd in a live broadcast. Results: sold out (or almost) in Santiago and Casino de Viña (this show sadly never happened), people talking about Journey in the whole country, on the internet, in this forum, in thousands of forums, inclusive in my country they were news (I'm from Peru) :o , great expectation of the Vegas show and the future of the band with great expectations too. I think 'my god, this guy did it all' , I saw many news and shows from Chile in TV, the people don't talk of the slowers, the rocking songs, the Journey legacy, the virtuosity of Schon, the greatness of Deen, the look of Cain, no, no, no, they talking about this filipino 'always smiling' dude, the power of his voice and the power of the music that he helped to revitalize.

Though it was difficult to me to recognize it (I'm a JSS supporter), man, they have done a great movement. Maybe they tried with augeri (the unknown singer, Journey fan, with similarity to Perry's voice), but this is the internet era, the youtube era, the forums era, always is different right now. I have great expectations about the future of Journey, I hope not to be wrong. People 'let the music do the talking'.

and with regard to this topic, I think Arnel did a great job with the songs that he has interpreted up to the moment (my god 'Only The Young' in Viña was a Journey sublime moment)

You'll notice I'm de-bolding your post to de-emphasize your cynical aspersions.

Those of us who are critical of Pineda have, by your definition, "sad lives" upon which we need to focus our "own critical attitudes".

Are you Manuel Pineda, his dim-wit half brother?

As a dual citizen of the U.K. and U.S., I at first felt compelled to draw a line in the sand and find some common ground with you. There is none to be found. You Pineda worshippers are all the same...you personalize criticism from people who have the right to do so - namely, those of us who grew up on Steve and expect nothing but the best from this band. If they're putting out an inferior product, it is our right to say something about it.

So get up the apples and have a pint of Rosie before I come to yer drum and gaff and piss on your dog.

And it's wankers like you that make me remember why I haven't moved back home. Please go back to your steel mill job in Manchester and bugger yourself.

Did you actually even live the UK? Some of your cock-er-ny rhyming slang seems a little strange, kinda like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins! :D

Back to the topic on hand - two shows in and Pineda is dangerously close to performing the best ever live versions of Faithfully and Only the Young bar none. Given his rapid rate of improvement from the first show it looks like the more patient fans may soon be rewarded with some spectacular stuff!

As for some douches comment about Deano trying to ruin the band...as if! Deano should be on the payroll for bringing tapegate to light and staying on it relentlessly. He helped bring new energy to Journey and they are running with it.

I don't need worship, o paragon of virtue. Seriously. Start a thread or a post or a blog about whatever you think it is that I've lied about, and we can address those issues. Coming in here - unbaited - and calling me names and disparaging me personally doesn't help me understand what your problem is with me...My post above was only in response to the disbelief I felt as I've watched you drag my name through the mud here throughout the past 2 weeks with no responses or baiting from me at all.

Not even the f'n point. Dennis can still sing the rocking songs better than ever. The point wasn't anything to do with who could still rock..it was to do with who could still sing rock...yet Dennis can still rock on the rock songs.
When is the last time you saw him in concert.

Dennis is a great singer. A decent keyboard player. But he's as far away from being a rock star as Josh Grobin is or Barry Manilow. It's a drag because I used to be one of Dennis' biggest fans. I still like him, but he really needs to do something that rocks and he hasn't in a long time. I will be buying his solo album though because I still like him, but if we're talking about rock, I gotta hand it to Gowan these days.

By the way, If anybody watched the Jimmy Kimmel thing about Matt Damon, Josh Grobin seems to be moving closer to being a rock star these days. Damn funny stuff.

The point isn't who's a 'rock star' it was who can sing rock stuff..which Dennis still can brilliantly.
