Yup. And to think, Neal stated that the song came about simply by accident. Purportedly, the band had set a time to meet for rehearsal and only Neal and SA showed up that day. The end result was BTC. Now just imagine if Neal and SA spent a little more time collaborating.
'Beyond the Clouds' carries on in the classic Journey ballad tradition, but it's not wheezingly crawling from under the oppressive shadow of 'Open Arms' half-dead (i.e. "With Your Love" or "Lifetime of Dream" or "All the Way"). Instead, it does its own thing in its own way. Like, "Walking Away from the Edge", it's a modern Journey ballad for a modern time. The best thing about BTC, to me, is the almost-tangible sense of chemisty that exists between the guitarist and the vocalist. It represents a fusion of the musical sensibilities of both SA and Neal. Which is precisely what new Journey should've ALWAYS been about.
I have not heard any of The Zoo's original songs, so at this point, I'm not sure if I care whether Arnel has any input or not.
